Hide and Seek Rules and Tips From a Master

Hello, every and all persons reading this!!! It's Monday!! Booooooooooooo! I can't wait until our first anniversary so we can change our days. I hate Mondays!! ♫
%%%%%%
House is forcing me to memorize words in Latin. Do you know how hard that is? No, you don't. I don't think I should have to memorize it. It's not even funny. Whatever.
%%%%%%
And now on to the substance of this post:
On Saturday, after a fencing tournament in which I got 19th of 31 people, my family went to a friend's house. They have three kids--one my age, an eight-year-old, and a six-year-old. So, naturally, after watching funny videos on YouTube and eating dinner, we played Hide and Seek. Now, being the Hufflepuff that I am, I am a particularly good FINDER. What J.K. Rowling forgot to include about Hufflepuffs, though, is that we are also beasts at hiding and are, therefore, the MASTERS of Hide-and-Go-Seek. Back to the story: As I was hiding in my master spot, I was thinking about writing a novel about the strategy to hide-and-go-seek. <--This happens quite often. Instead of writing a novel, here are my___ tips to becoming a master of hide-and-go-seek.
For The Seekers:
1.) When you are counting, listen for faint footsteps of your prey*.
2.) Start looking in the room closest to you in the most obvious spots. Then check every nook and cranny.
3.) Go to a different room.
4.) Repeat steps 2 and 3 until you have found someone/all people.
5.) While you walk about, listen for noises like breathing and heart beats**.
6.) Tell a hilarious joke to see if you can get a chuckle from your prey.
7.) Once you have found the first person, bribe them into giving away the location of everyone else.
8.) If none of these has worked, you have two choices:
a.) Give up because you are a failure.
2.) Tell everyone that you have a grenade that will go off in 3...2...

For Hiders:
1.) As soon as the seeker starts counting, RUN!***
2.) Get as far away from the seeker as you can without leaving the boundaries that you are limited to.****
3.) Once you have run away, find a room that looks like it may have many hiding spots.
4.) Make sure none of your friends are close by so they won't give you up later.
5.) Look at the lighting in the room and find a shadow or dark corner.
6.) Curl yourself into a tiny ball as far away from the entrance as possible but in a good hiding spot still.*****
7.) Cover yourself with objects in the room.
8.) If all else fails--stop where you are and cover your eyes. Remember: If I can't see you, you can't see me. This is trickier than it seems, so I included pictures to aid you in learning:

YAR DOIN' IT WRONG!!!! This boy must be stupid. He is covering his nose, not his eyes and would, therefore, be easily found.

This boy is a little smarter than the last guy. However, the seeker would still find him because he is able to see (If I can't see you, you can't see me)

This boy, although young and inexperienced, is doin' it right. He cannot see, so the seeker will not be able to see him.
mOMO!!!

I hope this has been useful and that you are able to further succeed in your hiding/seeking skills.
*If you hear very loud obnoxious footsteps, your prey has most likely developed some brains and is trying to trick you.
**Most people, not having Hufflepuff finding skills, are unable to do this--which sucks for you.
***One may also speed walk or crawl.
****The reason for this is because if the counter goes from room to room in an orderly fashion, you are less likely to be the first to be found/ the LOSER!!!
*****One may also choose to stay near the entrance. If this is your choice, make sure you are out of direct line of sight.

Virgil's new favorite animal & the use of Latin in daily life

SHABBAT SHALOM, EVERYBODY!!!

La la la la, la la la la, Virgil's world! La la la la, la la la la, Virgil's world! Virgil loves her dragons, and Latin too! That's Virgil's worrrlldd!!!!
Okay, I have three things to cover in today's post. Here's Thing 1 and Thing 2:

Just kidding. That's not what I'm talking about today. But look - aren't they adorable?

Okay, here's the second (third?) thing I'd like to discuss.

This is not just any dinosaur, my friends. This is a reconstructed skeleton of the dracorex hogwartsia, my new favorite animal.

According to Wikipedia (and of course, everything on Wikipedia is 100% true):
Dracorex is a dinosaur genus of the family Pachycephalosauridae , from the Late Cretaceous of North America. The type (and only) species is Dracorex hogwartsia, meaning "dragon king of Hogwarts."
Get the reference? You're a winner.

It's just the most epic thing I've ever seen.

OK so earlier today I was at a bat mitzvah, and we were talking about teachers' tenures.
Someone said, "I don't get what 'tenure' means. Why is it called tenure? What does it come from, Greek?"
Me: "It probably comes from the Latin teneo, to hold."
Person: "That can't be right. Why's the 'u' in there, then?"
Me: "Maybe it's derived from the third principal part, tenui."
Person: "Oh. I guess that makes sense."

LATIN WIN!! We're going to beast at the Certamen invitational tomorrow.
:)

Byeeeee!!!!!

teehee

(We're sitting in our school's computer lab right now. It's Chem. And I'm bored 'cause Lynda, Momo, and I finished today's lesson already. I'm typing on one of those Dell keyboards that's black and bounces and makes nice little clicky sounds. I must admit, that's probably the one thing I like better about Windows than Macs. But moving on.)

Our swim team bleached their hair last night. (One of them being Virgil's boyfriendddd.) It's always fun to walk into first period and see a head of (once black hair) corn-ish-y-yellow-blonde? hair atop a proud swimmer's head.

Today is Friday!!! Thank goodness.
If I was super awesome and cared enough to go through with something like it, I would totally invent a religion/philosiphy/whatever of Fridayism. Because I definitely belive in Fridays.
Friday is the best day of the week 'cause it's the end of a terribly long school week and work week and doing icky, horrible things that take effort. It leads to the weekend, which is lovely and filled with sleep. (Unless you're in Saudi Arabia or Iran. Sorry, guys.) And Friday the Thirteenth can be fun 'cause everyone freaks out.

Also, the period's about to end, so imma go and I'll be back when I get home from school and then I'll finish this. Kay? Kay.
...
Alright, I'm home. (And I've remembered how to use commas...)

So. Yeah. Besides me being deathly, pitifully sick with a sore throat, things this week have been pretty good. I'm getting back into the journaling sort of thing every day, and I've slowly also been picking up on editing.

Ohmygoodnessgracious. I know what's also new.
In Global Studies (History) class, we got to meet our pre-student teacher (or whatever) person. And he's super cute. Like, he's even, like, actually a football player. It's pretty exciting, since Global Studies is already one of my favourite classes. [Teehee.]
He seems pretty nice, too. *crosses fingers* Hopefully, he'll also be good at teaching. Trifecta much? I think so.

Hope you all have a lovely weekend :D

With all due respect,
House

P.S. Next week will be a crash-course in basic-basic PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE etiquette. Lynda, xiy, and I sat through a... painful lunch period that reminded me I had been wanting to do something like this.

YAY! A VIDEO!

Hi! So, I've just downloaded a software called CamStudio. It's this thing that records your screen as you do stuff on your computer...I've made a video for y'all! Hope you like it. I was bored, and couldn't figure out what else to do for this post :) Awww...the thing just told me that the audio won't work. Sorry guys, y'all will just have to miss the sounds of beans getting squashed...The whole video's just really random. Maybe it'll be interesting to watch.
I'm annoyed. I can't /find/ the video on Youtube. I JUST UPLOADED IT!!! ARGH. Oh well...If I find it, I'll post it.
Luv, Lynda
P.S. We had an Orchestra Concert tonight. The Chamber Orchestra(advanced one) sounded so much better than the one I'm in...I'm the only Asian in the String Orchestra(not-as-good one). I feel so...not-as-good...Oh well. We had fun, and our music was still pretty. Even though Chamber had a piece that was half and hour long... :O Sooooooo long. Sooooo good though.

Wednesday, January 26, 2011

uh. yeah.

Well, hi there!

Happy Wednesday, y'all. :D

Today was the second day of "try-outs" for the play that I hope to participate in. :) Yesterday was pretty fun. We did a lot of "getting to know each other/theatre" type stuff. And there were only those couple moments of awkwardness. ;)

Uh, I'm tired. Yeah... I would have soo much more to write (I actually do, but I'm way too lazy right now).

BTW, 6LCF has been up for nearly a year! :D *excitement*

yeah, I'mma go now. Bye.

DFTBA!♥

Smiles, hugs, and lots of love,
Carrie

hello, all and sundry

So, erm, right. Yeah. Right. Tuesday. My day to post. Oh gosh, what am I supposed to write about?

Well, we fencing Curly Fries skipped fencing today; or, more accurately, we were there for fail!footwork (they do things called "snakes" now instead of footwork; I suppose it's similar in theory, but snakes aren't fun at all) and then snuck out to do homework instead of actually fencing. There were, like, a ton of people there today, and it would have been terrible trying to find any working, fitting equipment.

I watched Virgil take notes about the Dalai Lama, read part of a book she had about Tibet, watched Momo do science homework, and sat around. I had homework too, of course, but all the necessary materials (textbook, Greek stuff, my brain, motivation) were all at home.

It was, all in all, a very enjoyable experience.

You know, I really don't like the middle voice. Even though a lot of verbs have different meanings when put in said voice, a lot of them are implied and confusing and  "the subject verbs itself," which is basically what the middle voice is, just sounds so wrong. Sigh. Why does language have to be so complicated?

Okay, fail!short!rant is over.

Remember how Momo said in her post that finals are over and we can breathe without having panic attacks? Well, that may not be true. All the teachers are now firmly in "SECOND-SEMESTER-OMG-YOU-NEED-TO-COMMIT-YOURSELF-TO-DOING-WORK-AND-SETTING-GOALS-BECAUSE-IT'S-ALMOST-THE-END-OF-THE-YEAR-OKAY-LET'S-START-TALKING-ABOUT-JUNE-FINALS-NOW-OKAY" mode, and they've been assigning essays and projects like crazy. It's really annoying. ;_;

At any rate, I think I'm done.
G'bye.

Facebook, Cheats, Free Pet Dinosaurs, and the Answer to the Meaning of Life

Hello, everybody! I almost forgot to post today. Oopsie daisy!! Anyways, finals are done and we are finally able to breath without having panic attacks every 10 seconds (or at least I am). I'm just kidding, though. Of course, now that we are done finals, our teachers have found it necessary to assign projects, new ways of outlining chapters, and, naturally, more homework. I mean, honestly, who has time to breath without panicking anyway? As far as I have heard, I think the Curly Fries have done very well on the finals. Gah. I don't want to talk about them anymore.
What's been new in your lives? I haven't really done anything new and exciting recently. I might go to a fencing tournament this weekend (xiy and Virgil should come too), I failed a Greek test, and I decided with my mother that Pet hospital daycare would be a lovely vocation when I grow up. Maybe have the animals and chilluns playing together all day long. That would be fun.
I really wish I had some structure to this post but I don't. *sigh* I also decided today that I should finish High School a year early so that I can go and live in some exotic place like Canada for a while. Canada is crazy. They have meese running all over and they drink maple syrup like it's coffee. I also hear that there is a high cannibal population. Well, I am going to go now. Maybe I'll do some of that homework laying around. Who am I kidding? I'll let the homework be--it's far too late to do that stuff.
[FAIL POST]
 Love me. Bye!

P.S. I just wanted to thank all of you for such an enjoyable time at the condo lake house thing. Weee!

Making people feel important when they're really not

In a setting where there are a lot of components to making something run smoothly, there are obviously some factors that are more important than others. For example: in a marching band, there are really important people without whom the whole production would probably fall apart, like field commanders or the head snare of the drumline. These people are important

Do you ever notice that during "teamwork" peptalks, important people like field commanders are always getting compared to people who really don't make a difference? "You guys are a team - from the senior field commander to the second flute in the corner. You all make this happen."

Obviously, the person giving the peptalk doesn't think very highly of second flutes. Do you see what I mean? In making that comparison, you are actually undermining that person's morale by trying to make it seem like they're important, when they're really not. The marching band might look about .5% less impressive if that second flute was absent, but really, that's not much of a difference, especially when you have a marching band of 325 people.

Here's another example that's a bit more relevant to those of us who are currently trying to block marching band season from our memories.

Today, I had to go to the annual acolyte training at my church. (An acolyte is the person who walks up and down the aisle at the beginning and end of the service, carrying either a big heavy cross or a "torch," which is a giant candle. Sometimes an acolyte swings around a [fake] dove on a really long stick so that it seems like the Holy Spirit is literally flying over the congregation.)

We received a similar peptalk.

"Everyone who is part of the Sunday morning service is essential. You, the torch-bearing acolyte on the left, are just as important every member of the clergy."

Saying that just makes me feel like I'm wasting my time, because obviously, the service would go on without me. Sometimes there's only one acolyte who shows up on a given Sunday, and the service still goes absolutely fine. You know why? Because you don't really need more than one person walking in front of the choir, carrying a cross. It's all for show. Yet they still feel the need to remind us of our importance - and it's so counterproductive, because when they're saying that you're "just as important as " you automatically know that you actually don't matter at all.

Okay, I'm done with my little rant.

Yesterday, the 6LCF were all staying at Momo's house by the lake for a day, and it was a very fun day, filled with frivolity. We made curly fries (see House's photo below) and ate tacos and watched American Idol and played a game called Phase 10 and talked about boys (shout out to Poofy and EZ!). We also added to a very impressive list of "Things that R round," which was started by House as a way of studying for our Geometry final, which is now (thankfully) in the past. We also went outside, where is was very cold, and Momo almost died because she insisted on testing how frozen the lake was by jumping up and down on top of the ice. The ice didn't break, thank God, but it could have.

If you sneezed while reading this post, bless you!

Bye.

muggles and curly fries

Hey, y'all.

Guess what we don't have to do for a-entire-nother semester? Finals. That's right. We're done with our winter finals. D-o-n-frikkin-e. Yay us for memorising this far, right? :)

I would say that the past couple days have been very adequate celebration. The 6LCF all chilled at Momo's and had a super fun sleepover complete with...

Doodles! (the title: "Things that R round," next to the scores for our card game. daddy, be proud.)

look at the pretty view!!!

AND WE MADE CURLY FRIES!!!! WITH CHEESE :D
As you can see, we had a pretty wicked time. Jealous? I think so.

In other news...
Guess what starts this Sunday?
Quidditch season is kicking off, yo.
I'll be the ref for a game xiy, Virgil, and Linda get to play in. Best of luck to you guys!
The only concern I have at the moment is how the high (as of now) is ~15°F... ugh. That's gonna be a bit chilly. We're required to have some adult from the school to be there, so there's a chance it could be cancelled?* (Also, this is the first game I'll have ever actually been part of. And I'll most likely be the only ref there. Ohmigosh >.<)

So, yeah. That's about it.
I'm gonna go enjoy the rest of our nice, long weekend :D

With all due respect,
House

*Even though you [obviously] can't cancel quidditch.

Yay

Hiiiiiiiiiiiiiii
So, I'm typing on an iPad...Soooooooooooooooooooooo fun. House says hi. So does Carrie. Ha, House just dissed Virgil. Carrie's talking about Virgil dumping Poofy and then marrying Carrie...or something. It was confusing.
xiy just(ha, the auto typey thing changed xiy to zit) said to give background info on what we're doing. We're at this lake house/condo/thingy. We are celebrating Momo's mom's acquiring of a curly fry machine. We ate curly fries and veggie tacos, then watched tv, then played this game called Phase 10. Now we're talking about our preggo teachers, and people who rule the kitchens and...making sammiches? Ha! I know how to type an exclamation point! Though I don't know how to spell it. Momo's adding in that we're celebrating end of finals.
I'm going to go and figure out what House is hhhuuttyyfvhu <--Momo's responsible for that.
Bye
Luv, Lynda
P.S. This is in blue. Use your imagination.

adsghkjlk glad that's over

Today, the 6LCF had to take an English and a math final. Five of us have a teacher who enjoys giving extremely difficult tests, and so we were freaking out all day because this teacher's math final is supposed to be ridiculously hard. Like, you need three hours to take it, when most finals are usually two-and-a-half hours long.

So, yeah. It's over now. The worst part for me was the true/false section; "test-taking tips" and things like that tell you to look for key words (i.e., "always," "all," "some," etc) in order to help decide, but the test phrased things so that it's really difficult to tell just what the statement is trying to say. Sigh. I got about eight falses in a row and that really worried me; however, it seems that other people have gotten similar results, so I'll be cautiously hopeful that I didn't completely fail the thing.

And guess what tomorrow is? The science final! Oh, we're all just so excited to sit through two hours of physics problems we're not at all prepared to solve! Dx

I'm actually really worried that I'm going to fail the science final. I know more or less nothing about the subject. So I think that I'm just going to cram (and do the one thing people always tell you never to do) and forget it all second semester. Most of it's pretty useless, anyway.

Physics should be fun. But it's not. :|

I Forgot that it's Monday...

Happy Martin Luther King Day!!! Yay! No school! I forgot it was Monday because it feels like Sunday and I almost forgot to post. I know that I should be studying, but I can't! It's just too difficult. I might edit this post later because it sucks so much. But for now, this is all you're getting. Woohoo!

F is for Fanfic <3
F is for fabulous!!!
F is for finals (you're seeing through my eyes - that's what the glasses frames are for ^_^ )
F is for the grade I'm going to get on the math final... : (

So... yeah. A big shout-out to our sponsor, the letter F!!!

lookie there, we survived!

Ah, yes. We have completed our first day of finals (foreign language and social studies). And we all survived! Crazy, right?
We've just got a couple more days of sitting and getting hand cramps. It shouldn't be too bad, though the scary two (physics and geometry) are coming up...

I'm in that really terrible dying brain stage now. Like, I'm not bubbling in a Scantron still, but there's that horrible promise that we'll all be right back to regurgitating formulas next week. But I think we definitely deserve at least a little bit of tonight to just relax, chill, and not think about industrialism in 19th century Europe/deponent verbs conjugate passive, translate active/acceleration is change in velocity over time say whatttt.

One nice thing I think a few of us are looking forward to is that we get to switch from Psychics to Chem this semester, and apparently the science teachers are supposed to be a... little? better at chemistry. Wish us luck :)

So, yeah. Next week's bound to be a little hectic. Sorry if any of us flip out on you. Finals, you know.

With all due respect,
House

(P.S. Some of the other girls seem to have... height-related issues? I dunno, don't ask me.)

edit: as we all know, xiy is a crazy good artist. she's drawn us a pretty new banner that you should be admiring (it's up there, the one where we're all in a line and I look like a caterpillar^^^) right now :)

Finals. Are. Tomorrow. *shrieks*

*stare in disbelief* sooo...I just wrote a paragraph, then had to go and eat dinner, but...the post is gone! Argh!
Oh well...
The Curly Fries have finals tomorrow! We have World Language (French, Latin, German, Chinese, etc.) and History. I'm not worried about my French finals, as it's not really that hard. I'm a little worried about my history final, there's a DBQ(Document Based Question), and while those aren't hard, they take forever. They're really quite annoying. Argh. I'll get to it when I get to it...
In other news, a certain friend of mine and a certain friend of mine were flirting with each other! :P So cute. Female was showing off her skills at badminton (though, her skills are NOTHING compared to my skillz), and Male was acting "funny" and purposely missing for Female's attention :) It was hilarious. Carrie and I had great laughs about it. We've decided they're going to have a Spring wedding, with rainbow colors.
Physics, ah, physics. This afternoon, Virgil, Momo, xiy, and I all went to science study circles so we could prepare for the science finals(as none of our teachers taught us enough). We were struggling, and then this amazing teacher came and helped us! Our troubles all flew away, and we feel smarter, at least, I do. So, I would like to thank that teacher (whose name I do not know >.>). If you are not quite sure if you're that teacher, ask yourself, "did I help a group of 4 girls-freshmen, on a problem about specific heat?" If yes, you are that teacher! (Also, the answer was 4E^1 degrees Celsius, had something about copper being put into water...) THANK YOU TEACHER THAT HELPED ME/US! I'm sure we would all like to shrink you and bring you along to our science finals...*sigh* wish that could happen.
Last week I promised that I would synopsis-fy this Chinese drama I watched...I lied. I'm way to tired/busy studying, and I also need to sleep, so that I shall be awake for my finals tomorrow. I'll try for next week, because it's really hilarious, and I want to write about it. (Though, if we do what I think we might be doing, I'll have more interesting things to write about. We'll see when next week comes, capish?)
Luv, Lynda
P.S. Like the dividers? The last one could be us! 6 girls! :) I call being the 4th from the right, the tallest.

Awesomesauce.

Hey. You. Have we met? You look kind of... familiar...

Hello. So, um, I don't really feel like writing a super long post, I'll just stick to being brief tonight.

Happy Wednesday! Yay, finals start in 2 days. Who's excited? Not me. :)

Uhh.... I'm tired. And I'm listening to the Beatles. Yay.

'kay. bye. DFTBA! ♥

Smiles, hugs, and lots of love,
Carrie

procrastination is such a wonderful thing

Studying for the physics final, however, is not. I think it's been established by now that none of the Curly Fries really have good science teachers. Some have better teachers than others, but none are particularly knowledgeable. So we're probably not going to do as well as we could on the final. Whee. >.<

Speaking of science, our Division B Science Olympiad team doesn't seem likely to make it to states this year, considering that all the competent people are going to be away at Latin Convention on the day of the regional competition. This is not good.

I really should be reading up on the Haitian/South American/French/other revolutions right now (ugh the history final is in two days ugh). Perhaps I should go do that now.

There are no amusing Latin-textbook scenes from me, so you'll just have to be content with this text.

Guess what Tomorrow is? 1/11/11!!

Hello, people of the Milky Way Galaxy et alia!! How has your Monday been? Mine has been rather average. You know how Mondays are. I don't have any exciting news to share besides:
1. Finals start on Friday (omg imma dieeeeee!)
2. We're having a 6LCF partay on the Friday after finals XD

LAWLZ!!!
So, in my Bible studies class (which is awesome, by the way) we did this riddle thing and I wanted to post it on here but it's about religion and non-religious people probably wouldn't even get it. Instead, I think that I shall post a random riddle on here. Never mind. Google doesn't provide riddles that meet my high expectations. Do you guys know any good riddles? Now look at these fun pictures.

This is a picture from an old Latin book. Sextus, the guy with his mouth open, is Virgil's son. :O

Gotta get some studying done now.

Adventures in Panera & Why Geometry is a Lie

It's Saturday! (cue theme music)
La la la la, la la la la, Virgil's world! La la la la, la la la la, Virgil's world! Virgil loves Panera, but not math too! That's Virgil's worlddddd!!!!!!
(end theme music)

Today, I was supposed to meet Momo and xiy for a little studying-for-math-finals party at our local Panera. The party (okay, it wasn't a party) was supposed to start at 2. I didn't see them until after 3. This is what happened:

2:00 - arrive at Panera. Look around and realize that I'm the first one there. This does not please me. I order a cafe mocha and sit in a booth, then I finish the weekend math homework that I started in class on Friday.
2:05 -  the mocha is very tasty.
2:10 - Momo calls and says she'll be there in about seven minutes.
2:15 - well, I suppose I'll do my Latin homework, too...
2:25 - maybe I should do this science homework as well....
2:30 - sike. I don't understand this science homework.
2:45 - where is everybody?
2:50 - maybe we were actually meeting at three....
2:55 - *calls xiy's house* May I please talk to xiy? Oh, she's at Panera? I'm here, too, but....
3:05 - Momo and xiy were on the other side of Panera the whole time, and they just didn't see me because I was in a booth and I'm so short that I was hidden.

*headdesk*

After that, it was quite enjoyable. We studied for math (meaning: complained about our math teacher and probably solved a total of two and a half proofs) and then watched the police show up outside and talk to this guy in a hood, who we're pretty sure was a spy.

While we were complaining about the horrors of geometry, xiy brought up a very valid point, which I would like to share:

A point is really nonexistent, because it's zero-dimensional and doesn't actually take up space, technically.
A line, however, is made up of an infinite amount of points... but how is it that a line can be one-dimensional?
According to what we've been taught, anything times zero ought to equal zero. However, this point-line case study proves the zero times infinity is, in fact, infinity.

Therefore, by the zero property of multiplication....

GEOMETRY IS A LIE...

...CREATED BY THE ADMINISTRATION FOR THE SOLE PURPOSE OF TORTURING US.

I rest my case.

GET WELL SOON, HOUSE!!

pity me.

house is sick with an icky nasty infection that makes her tummy furious with the wrath of a few dozen angry goddesses. you should pity her on account of what a good friend you are. also, reminder: finals are super soon, so I guess we should start to actually like study or whatever.
with all due respect,

A Meme from Me!

Hey there.
As I have nothing interesting to write about, I'm just going to do what Virgil did on Saturday. Apparently it's called a meme...
From Urban Dictionary: Meme- noun. (4th definition) in blogspeak, an idea that is spread from blog to blog
From The Daily Meme: In the context of web logs / ‘blogs / blogging and other kinds of personal web sites it’s some kind of list of questions that you saw somewhere else and you decided to answer the questions. Then someone else sees them and does them and so on and so on. I generally consider these to be actual questions and not some multiple choice quizzes that determine some result at the end (what color you are most like, what cartoon character are you, what 80s movie are you).
Now that we've established what a meme (this type) is, here is mine(in the same format, w/ the same format as Virgil):

IF SOMEONE SAYS "IS THIS OKAY" YOU SAY?
"Single Ladies" by Beyonce-ahm...ok

WHAT DO YOU LIKE IN A GUY/GIRL?
"Big Time Rush" by Big Time Rush-hehe...yeah, sure, I like ppl who listen to their heart, and live in the moment...

HOW DO YOU FEEL TODAY?
"Just a Dream" by Carrie Underwood-*blink* that's kinda depressing.

WHAT IS YOUR LIFE'S PURPOSE?
"遺失的美好" by Angela Zhang-why am I getting this? I don't deserve this! (to clarify, the song is about losing something/everything good)

WHAT IS YOUR MOTTO?
"Hey, Soul Sister" by Train-erm. neh. idk, this one's weird. I guess I feel that people should have a soul sister/brother?

WHAT DO YOUR FRIENDS THINK OF YOU?
"怎么办" by S.H.E.-BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!...(clarification, this is the theme song to this Chinese drama where this girl dresses as a boy to go to this all boys school, so she can stalk this other guy...the song is about not knowing what to do about her huge crush, blushing whenever he's around, her heart speeding...) So...my friends think I'm hawt? They, erm, like-like me? Gosh. Are you guys not telling me something?

WHAT DO YOU THINK OF YOUR PARENTS?
"Gotta Get Back to Hogwarts" by StarKidPotter-Ack. >.< That's not a good song for this...though, is it true? I guess...*sigh* I do want to go to Hogwarts...but...yeah....NEXT QUESTION!

WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT VERY OFTEN?
"If I Ever Could Love" by Keith Urban-Oh, I love this song! Except...do I think about love a lot? wow...doesn't sound like me, the I-Think-Love-is-completely-rubbish-for-me-but-hey-I'm-fine-with-y'all-being-lovey-dovey-just-don't-get-it-on-me!

WHAT IS 2+2?
"525600 Minutes" by RENT-hahahaha...sure. Let's go with that. Hey! Look at that, I even remembered the units! :)

WHAT DO YOU THINK OF YOUR BEST FRIEND?
"Everywhere" by Michelle Branch-(that song on the old CHASE commercials? "'Cause you're everywhere!") Ha. Yup. I think my friends are everywhere. I love you guys for that! <3

WHAT DO YOU THINK OF THE PERSON YOU LIKE?
"Because You Live" by Jesse Mccartney+"Lukas Podolski"-So, this one, my iPod played two seconds of the latter, then skipped to the first one. Erm. The 2nd song is in German...I think it basically worships Podolski though...I worship the guy I like? Awww...the 1st song is so sweet. Idk. Maybe I really like the guy, and it's for him that I live, I live to worship him?

WHAT IS YOUR LIFE STORY?
"Hot n' Cold" by Katy Perry-HA! I'm a PMSing bitch who's bi-polar! HAHA! It's rather close, too!

WHAT DO YOU WANT TO BE WHEN YOU GROW UP?
"Hero" by Sterling Knight-Wow. I'm gonna be a hero for the person I love? jeez. I should get my future "love" to pay me for "hero services"

WHAT DO YOU THINK WHEN YOU SEE THE PERSON YOU LIKE?
"I'm Alive" by Celine Dion-this is surprisingly consistent. I seem to "get wings to fly, I'm alive" when I see the person that I (look above) live to worship...

WHAT DO YOUR PARENTS THINK OF YOU?
"(Absolutely)Story of a Girl" by Nine Days-uhm...they think I cry too much, but they love me when I smile? I don't cry though!

WHAT WILL YOU DANCE TO AT YOUR WEDDING?
"Trouble is a Friend" by Lenka-this is sooooooo ominous...is it an omen? That I'm gonna find trouble when I'm acting as the "hero" of my love? Yeesh, creepy.

WHAT WILL THEY PLAY AT YOUR FUNERAL?
"America AO" by Aaron Carter-Yeah. Right. Play a pop/rap/rock/heavymetal-ish song at my funeral, future grandkids! I DARE YOU. Watch me come out of my grave and smack your little behinds! *fume*

WHAT IS YOUR HOBBY/INTEREST?
"Pocketful of Sunshine" by Natasha Bedingfield-HAHAHAHAHA. I like to laugh and smile and be happy, and dance with butterflies!

WHAT DO YOU THINK OF YOUR FRIENDS?
"青花瓷" by Jay Chou-Ahhhh...if I don't really know what the heck this song is about...I don't even know what the title really means! Well, it's pretty. So, um, I think you guys are all pretty.

WHAT'S THE WORST THING THAT COULD HAPPEN?
"If I Were a Boy" by Beyonce-MWAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHA!!!! YES! THAT'S THE WORST THING THAT COULD HAPPEN!!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!

HOW WILL YOU DIE?
"Kiss a Girl" by Keith Urban-Erm...I'm gonna die cuz I kissed a girl? STDs? Herpes? Poison? Disgust? Stab in the back?

So, that was my very amusing meme about me! It was fun. I liked the 2nd last one. It fit soooooo well. Haha. *wipes tears from laughter* So...gotta go to sleep now! (Or do my Greek hw...) G'night!
Luv, Lynda

P.S. I know what I'm gonna write about next week, if nothing big happens. Remember that question about "what my friends think of me"? The song to that was for a Chinese Drama. I think I'll write my condensed version...Should be fun. I liked that drama...slightly weird and totally improbable, and mildly creepy, but whatever.

Title.

Hi.

Happy Shmosh day/week! :D

*Procrastination.* My bad.

Uhhh... where was I? Oh right, Shmosh day/week. Anyway, it's a holiday (made by yours truly and this other kid) that's kind of like President's day... only you get presents. George VI, a purple penguin, comes in through your front door and hands you a present if you've been good and a puked up fish if you've been bad. So be good, he's watching you. *Inquisitive look*
Sooo... Happy Shmosh day, y'all.

Yay. No homework ^_^
Boo. Finals start next week.
Yay. Upcoming 2 1/2 day week.

Uh, I'm wearing awesome pants today. They are AWESOME. Just saying.

'Kay, I think I'm gonna go now. Bye.
DFTBA! ♥

Smiles, hugs, and lots of love,
Carrie

gym class and finals

Ow. I don't think my legs work properly anymore. They're really sore and bending at the knee hurts a lot. I attribute this leg-pain to gym class, in which I have to do a lot of push-ups and sit-ups and complicated exercises. Gym class does not make me happy. >.<

Like Momo said, finals are coming up. This does not make me happy either. Geometry proofs are especially annoying, as I know why things are congruent (aside from the fact that they're always congruent, because things in proofs always are; sometimes, I wonder why they bother asking if it's already obvious that ABC and DEF are congruent from the minute you see the words "Prove ABC and DEF congruent") but it's difficult to correctly iterate it onto paper in the form of "statement" and "reason." Especially when the teacher tells you that she did it in all of five steps, when you're already on step 17 and desperately wondering if you've done something wrong.

Sigh.

Anyway, that's mostly it for today.
Right.
I'll just be going now.

xiy.

FINALS!!! D:

OHMYGOSHFINALSARECOMINGUPANDI'MGOINGTOFAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAILTHEMALL!!!!!!!!!
Goodness, I sound like Lynda! Yes, finals are in two weeks and the stress has already given me about 4.6 panic attacks per class period--I am freaking out!!! Aggh! I think next week if the posts are especially short/non-existent that we should be excused. What do you all think?

Did anyone notice our 14th follower? I noticed. Welcome, 14th follower!! We love you!!!!!

I think we need to do a theme week/actually do the book club (remember that?) since the posts, no offense, are getting a little bland. I think maybe we could do something like Virgil did on Saturday because I thought that it was very funny.

I'm really tired now. I think I'll eat some chocolate and then go to bed. Goodnight and stuff!
OMG!! I know something that House told me!!!! :O
--Momo

UPDATE: I just noticed what a dumb post this is. Will a kitty make it better? Who am I kidding-- kitties always make things better. Here, have this one:

It's 1/1/11 and Virgil hates birds.

Sometimes, especially at times when I'm being woken up at the ungodly hour of 10 a.m. on New Year's Day by the obnoxious squawking of birds, I like to imagine what the birds might be saying to one another.
This is how I picture it:
Bird Number 1 (posh British accent): Why hello there, Bird Number 2. How are you on this fine New Year's morning?
Bird Number 2 (rural Kentucky accent): HI BIRD NUMBER 1 IT'S NEW YEAR'S MORNING AND GUESS WHAT? I'M A BIRD!!!!
Bird Number 1: Well, young fellow, there's no need to shout.
Bird Number 2: I'M A BIRD!! ISN'T IT GREAT? WE'RE ALL BIRDS!!! YAYY!!!
Bird Number 1: Tut, tut, Virgil is trying to sleep.
Bird Number 2: HAPPY NEW YEAR, VIRGIL!!! I'M A BIRD!!!
Bird Number 3: I'M A BIRD TOO!!!
Birds 2 & 3: YAY WE'RE BIRDS AND IT'S NEW YEAR'S MORNING YAYYY

Oh, joy.

So today, we're going to have fun with Virgil's iTunes library! Yay!

This is a thing I found on Facebook. I'm sorry if it's really lame.
