A Rare Rant From Momo

So...winter break. It's been kinda sucky so far. I'm pretty sure Virgil wins the worst winter break award--I don't have driver's ed, I don't live with my NHD partner, and my parents and sister are very supportive of my ranting.

I have to confess...

I've cried, like, 6 1/2 times over break already because of stupid NHD. But mainly NHD partner.

I've also begun sleep-walking again, which is never a good sign. The other night I fell asleep on the couch and fell on the floor. My sister was taking pictures and I started sleep-yelling at her. Then I started crying in my sleep (this is where the 1/2 times comes from) and I sleep-stomped out of the room and promptly fell to the floor in a big heap. I got back up and sleep-stomped up to bed whilst sleep-sobbing.
My mom and sister came into my room to see if I was OK and apparently I was sitting in my bed (still sleep-sobbing) crying that I'd ruined Christmas.

I don't remember any of this (which is how I know I was sleeping the whole time).

It's not good when I sleep walk.

It only happens when I'm super stressed.

The other times I've cried are really out of frustration at NHD partner. We've been arguing about really dumb things about the design of the board we're making and even my mom has looked at the board and told us what she thinks is best (to which he simply starts arguing more).
I've stomped out on him twice out of frustration.
This is going to sound awful--but I'm really glad he's going out of town tomorrow. I'm basically going to commandeer the project and do everything my way.
I'm glad I have my mom, though. She says what she is thinking and has let us use her fancy work printer. She is also very supportive of my frustrated sobs.
I wish I'd worked with a girl. :( Boys are really bad at NHD exhibit boards.
THAT'S ENOUGH ABOUT STUPID NHD, MOMO.

i'm sorry.

It's okay. Sometimes you need to vent.

Yup.

*Internal conversation ends now*.

I hope you've all at least had mediocre winter breaks and I hope yours gets better, Virgil.
You guys are so nice to have tolerated that. :)
-Momo
By the way, there are a lot of secret messages because my mom (for some reason) thinks that NHD partner might see this. It's been censored. Kay?

nitwits, oddments, blubbers, and perhaps a tweak or two

SALVETE OMNES

So today I skipped fencing because I had a ton of work to do, and then when I got home, instead of starting to chip away at the mountain of homework, I: 1) ate too much food and 2) watched almost a whole hour of TV.
I have no self-control whatsoever.  *sigh* I should have gone to fencing. AND I'm supposed to be on a diet, but this stupid online health course has me so paranoid about anorexia that now I'm eating way too much. It's supposed to discourage people from becoming obsessed with their weight, but instead IT'S DOING THE EXACT OPPOSITE. How counterproductive. I just had a bowl of Ben & Jerry's, and now I feel guilty. I BLAME BRIGHAM YOUNG UNIVERSITY.
So, let's see. Things that are randomly coming to my mind...
1. Bio class today was so much fun. I'm giggling just thinking about it, even though I don't remember a whole lot, because I'm pretty sure Momo and I were both on laughing gas the whole time.

2. This book that I'm reading, The Forgotten Legion, is really, REALLY good. It's quite a lot like A Game of Thrones - let's do a little comparison game, shall we? The eager English student inside of me is having a party. I really should be working on an English essay about mangoes right now, but whatever, this is more fun.
Similarities between TFL and GoT:
1. They both have alternating perspectives between different characters of contrasting status, who may or may not be on opposing sides of the same conflict and/or have stories that somewhere link together or will link together in the future.
2. They both have a lot of political themes involved.
3. They are both written by military-tactics-nerds.
4. They both involved the objection of women in the form of both a) rape and b) prostitution.
5. They both contain a lot of blood.
6. They are both really great books.

Difference between TFL and Got:
1. The Forgotten Legion is historical fiction, wheres A Game of Thrones is (as far as we know) completely fantasy.
2. A Game of Thrones took me over a month to read, whereas it's only been a couple days with TFL and I'm about halfway done.

It's interesting how these days we are (or, at least, I am) entertained by the violence, sex, and politics (I feel like these three things go together) of civilizations that either never existed or haven't existed in centuries. Is it some sort of fascination with pain? Does it make our own lives seem better in comparison when we're reading about the depressing lives of characters who face terrible situations, half of whom are enslaved? I don't know about you guys, but reading about Daenerys getting raped or Fabiola getting sold to a brothel really puts my own problems into perspective. OH MY GOODNESS I GOT A BAD GRADE ON THE APUSH ESSAY, WHAT ON EARTH AM I GOING TO DO WITH MY LIFE? Maybe that's why I love reading Harry Potter so much - his life sucks.

Don't judge me because I read just to make myself feel better about my own life, because that isn't even true. But I would be lying if I said that it wasn't one of the many reasons.

*sigh*
I salute you if you actually read my little train-of-consciousness post. It probably makes no sense.

Have You 'Freaked' a Cigarette in the Past 30 Days?

......*blink*

We had a survey in school (specifically English class) today, and that was one of our lovely questions. Not that I really remember it. I just randomly clicked my way through the whole thing. I went from "I have never had a cigarette in my life", to the next question, in which I clicked, "30 hours and more"...the question? In the past week, how many hours have you smoked, total? *shrugs* I don't really care, just a ridiculous survey. I took them seriously in 8th grade, but not this year. Nope, not this year.

WHAT THE FRICK, MISS SCIENCE TEACHER????? (I will be shrinking the following rant to a miniscule text, as I have been told not to refer to said science teacher as 'stupid'. I won't call her stupid, but I need to vent about how much I am not learning in science physics chemistry)
WHAT THE FRICK, MISS SCIENCE TEACHER? HOW THE BLOODY FRICKING HELL AM I SUPPOSED TO TAKE A QUIZ TOMORROW ABOUT SOMETHING I DON'T EVEN UNDERSTAND THE FIRST THING ABOUT???? I DON'T EVEN KNOW WHAT VALENCE IS (kay, so maybe I do...)!!!! WHAT THE HECK IS ELECTRONEGATIVITY??? YOU KNOW, I'D KNOW WHAT THAT IS IF YOU WOULD ACTUALLY TEACH THE BLOODY MATERIAL INSTEAD OF SHOWING US VIDEOS ABOUT THE MOST RANDOM THINGS IN THE WORLD (why the plutonium video? just cuz you admire the frizzy afro, is not a valid reason for showing that video for years upon years upon years!!!) OH AND BY THE WAY, EVEN THOUGH YOU'VE GOT A MINOR IN CHEMISTRY, DOESN'T MEAN WE DO! SO WHEN YOU SAY "OH, YOU SHOULD KNOW THAT", I BLOODY WELL DON'T KNOW THAT!!!!!! AREGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anyways, yeah. Um....I'll probably update later when I'm home from crew. Which reminds me, we're going to the boathouse today, and it's raining and cold.  Why is my life cursed so? Yesterday, I was accompanying people to a swim test, and it was raining and windy. I had my umbrella, and it did not WORK! I mean, the stupid umbrella was dry, and I was soaked!!! eep, gotta go

^our English class ended.

Anyways, I went to the swim test, and my left side became wet, came back, and my right side got soaked. :(  grrrrr. oh yeah! I saw a certain Curly Fry and her boyfriend! *sing songy voice*

House and EZ sitting in a tree, k-i-s-s-i-n-g!
First comes love,
Then comes marriage (which their friends have planned),
Then comes the babies in the baby carriages (which their friends have also planned)...

*snicker* This song was sung due to the fact that House was heading towards EZ's house! How scandulous, the IDEA! <--reminds me of Camilla in Great Expectations.

Soooo....write y'all a lot later when I'm done with crew...*sob* wet. cold. tired. muddy.

LATER:  Hey y'all. Crew was fun. We went to the boathouse and got cold, but I didn't lift any boats. Yay! No heavy lifting for Lynda! Also, I learned that sweatshirts so don't cut it. I was freezing. Well, I guess I have to go pester Dad to buy me a windbreaker that will keep me warm. (Northface is expensive...maybe Nike? Then again, Nike's also expensive...but crappy brands will have crappy stuff...idk. Warmth is worth the money, I think) Brrrrrrr...it isn't cold, here, where we live and go to school, but near the water is frickin' cold! Good thing I didn't get too cold.

Though when we came back, the fog was so heavy, I couldn't see past the track from the side doors where our bus stopped. Damn, it was scary. I kept imagining freaky people jumping out at me and kidnapping me and then killing me and then raping me and then killing me again and then mauling me to pieces....yeah... On the other hand, the walk was a great boost to my ego.
I started out like this: "I'm ugly. It's ok. The kidnappers will see me, go like, 'zomg! She's too ugly to kidnap, let's go.'"
Around halfway: "I'm not that ugly. The kidnappers might think about kidnapping me! But it's ok. I'll just run. They won't think I'm worth it..."
Almost there: "I'M TOO PRETTY TO DIE!!! THEY'RE GONNA KIDNAP ME AND KILL ME! I'M TOO COMELY!! I'M GORGEOUS! I DESERVE TO LIVE! LONG LIVE STUNNINGLY RAVISHING LYNDA!!!! NOOOOOOOOO!!! DON'T TAKE ME! TAKE THE UGLY ONES!!!"

see? If you ever need a change of self-image, take a walk in the dark, foggy streets...

Luv,
Lynda

Why?

My post is going to be similar to Momo's post. Except that the format will be in "WHY"'s, and lots of ranting.
****
SIDENOTE: I realized after writing this post that it's split into two parts. One for complaints, and one for HAPPY things. The complaints are in "WHY" format, and the happy things are strung in one huge run-on sentence that my English teacher and xiy and House would be appalled at...if it wasn't so dang happy...If you would like to skip my very interesting and fun(ny) ranting, please scroll down...you should be able to see the rather large words :) Have fun reading!
****
WHY do teacher's think that they should give you tons of homework when it's THURSDAY? Is it 'cause they believe that it's the day before the day the shouldn't give homework (Friday), so "let's cram in as much stuff as we can before the day!"????????????
WHY is it necessary to gamble all of your points in Final Jeopardy?
WHY did my teammates find it necessary?
WHY did we fricking lose all the points, and then the "Blue Ninjas" won because they were smart enough to leave 100 points?
WHY did I not know the 5 countries/regions that were affected by the war?
WHY is Germany not part of the said "5 countries/regions that were affected by..." World War 1?
WHY is France not part of that^?
WHY is it that whenever I look at something for a while, my glasses start sliding down the non-existent bridge of my nose?
WHY do I have not have a  bridge for my nose?
WHY is it that my brother feels like he has to cry EVERY FRICKING DAY for at least 10 minutes?
WHY is it that my sister feels the need to provoke my brother into crying?
WHY does my house feel freezing when I'm at home after school, and then when my parents come home, it warms up again?
WHY do I have to wake up so early tomorrow to go to Greek?
WHY do I keep bumping my head into things?
WHY does my elbow keep jamming into things?
WHY do I have chronic pain in my neck? ACTUAL pain. Like, I have a crik in it the WHOLE DAY.
WHY do I think that I just spelled "crik" wrong, and Firefox did not give it a red squiggly?
WHY did I forget what "chronic" meant?
WHY do I procrastinate to do my homework?
WHY do I have to have a vocab quiz in Greek tomorrow?
WHY do I have the world's most STUPID Physics teacher?
WHY does she dress like a 5 year-old? WHY is she so fricking stupid? WHY does she not know what she's teaching? WHY...etc.
WHY do I have an outline due on Monday that I haven't started yet? (20 or 30 PAGES!!!)
WHY is Momo such a cruel person? She tortured me! She told me the outline ^ was due on FRIDAY!!!
WHY...there's more, but I think this is long enough...
****
On a happier note, MY BIRTHDAY IS TOMORROW!!!! AHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
OMIGOSH MY BIRTHDAY IS TOMMMMMOOOORRRROOOOOWWWW, HARRY POTTER AND THE DEATHLY HALLOWS PT 1 IS COMING OUT IN LESS THAN 6 HOURS (ALMOST 5 NOW), THE WORLD IS PERFECT (minus the above things^ the "WHY"s), I'M GOING TO BE A YEAR OLDER, MY EARS ARE FINALLY PIERCED, I'M GOING TO WATCH HARRY POTTER AND THE DEATHLY HALLOWS, THERE'S GOING TO BE A PRETTY BANNER FOR ME TOMORROW, MAYBE SOMEONE MADE A FACEBOOK MESSAGE ABOUT ME-A SECRET ONE *SQUEEE!!!*, THE BLOG IS GOING TO BE DECORATED IN MY HONOR, OMIGOSH I THINK MOMO IS MAKING A PLAY-DOH PICTURE FOR MY BANNER, I LOOOOOVVVVEEEE BIRTHDAYSSS!!!!!!! Have a nice day!

Thursday, November 11, 2010

Hello everyone.
The topic of my post today was inspired partly by something I heard in English, and partly by my personal life...which is not a happy topic! You can just forget about me expounding on it.

Sidenote: I'm currently listening to "Starstruck" by Sterling Knight...It's somewhat weird, because I'm positive I heard a 4th grader squealing over how "hawt" Sterling Knight is....*shudder* It's not like he's not cute, he is, it's just....I don't remember having hormones in 4th grade. Did I? (that is to Momo+xiy, who knew me best back then)

A General Overview of the Stereotypes about:
China, China, China. Chinese ppl, Chinese ppl...jeez, when will people stop talking about them every frickin' time they think about the "less fortunate", the "smart", the "censored", the "Communists"? It's not like we're the ONLY less fortunate. There are rich people in China too, you know? There are stupid Chinese people too, but hey, y'all (please note I am not talking about the Curly Fries when I go and generalize all people. They've been well trained to not think of China/Chinese people all the time as said stereotypes...) don't even THINK about that when you're talking. Censored? Come on. Sure, we aren't that "free" in our web searches, but hey, that doesn't mean we're living in a frickin' cement block. Just cuz these couple o' anarchists in China are stuck in jail with a speedy trial, doesn't mean that y'all should go like, "awwwww". Whaddya think your government does? Give them a teddy bear and a room at the Ritz-Carlton? NOT. Lastly, so we're a Communist country. Big deal! You're a not-exactly-capitalist-not-exactly-socialist country. It's not like Chinese people criticize y'all for that... And then BLAMING. YOU GUYS ARE BLAMING THE CHINESE because your country is in DEBT. YOU OWE CHINA A TRILLION FRICKING DOLLARS. Well that's just great, print out a trillion dollar bills in a couple hours, and just hand them to China! But hey, isn't that kind of mean because the dollar is worth so little now? The value of the trillion that China lent the U.S. is so much more than what the U.S. would be giving back in a trillion dollars. It's just so...idk...I'm giving up on this topic...
Ok...that last paragraph was maybe a bit of biased ranting...But seriously, I'm TIRED of it.
Things I am SO F***ING TIRED OF:
1. The "ching-chang-chong" phrase. CAN YOU GET ANY LESS CREATIVE? IT'S NOT EVEN CHINESE!!!!
2. Making inappropriate remarks just so you can see the Asian's reaction. Well I've heard worse(Chinese people are vulgar on the streets, even when I was little), and I don't give a damn about what you say. I don't CARE if you've got one of two balls.
3. "Can you say something in Chinese?" I'm fine with it if you're innocently and curiously asking. I just don't feel like it. But when you say it in a voice that implies I'm an illiterate non-English speaking creature, I HATE IT.
4. STARING because I'm Asian. DUDE, YOU'VE SEEN AN ASIAN BEFORE.
5. "Are you two sisters?" (refers to xiy+I) Just because we're both of the same race does NOT mean we're related. That would be like me asking African-Americans, "Are you brothers?"(I changed the gender, cuz it's more often the boys who ask this)Or asking a Caucasians,  "Are you sisters?" (more often the girls...blondes, a lot of the times :))

Phew! That was a lot of ranting and pent up frustration/anger/tears all piled together into one huge post...Oh well. It was fun to write :)

NaNoWriMo wordcount: 8300 :D (STILL AHEAD OF VIRGIL!!!!!!)(Edit from Virgil: Actually, as of when you posted this, I was at 9,583 ^_^ muahahaha)
Last sentence: Her calico fur rippled, and some places began showing a pale, hairless, human skin.
Love,
Lynda
P.S. I had to copy this from my blog as I forgot I was signed into my account...grr

Finally, A Post That's Not Centered on Sleep and Greek-Dislike

Hellloooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It's been a while since I decided to post earlier than 9pm. Today, I've finished my homework!!! YAY, LYNDA!
Ok. Uhmm...yeah...I really don't have much to post about...I know! I've been wanting to rant about something, so I might as well do it here....*sheepish grin* Of course, if you don't want to read it, then you may just skip down to where I say, "Luv, Lynda" and pretend that I'm an angelic person who doesn't rant at all; never complains; and is always lady-like (pfft), polite (hah!), and lastly, nice(*snort*).
So in orchestra today, this girl was wearing horrid things. Just like she wore horrid things two days ago. Anyways, let me describe her to you. She's short and has big hair...kinda poofy (hah! Poofy! ha!). Anyways, she has a boyfriend, who is, like, 10 feet tall; it's quite funny seeing him and her hugging or, er, "necking". Today, she wore this pair of short-shorts that were so short they barely covered an inch of her legs. Good grief, it's not that warm anymore; it's FALL; it's AUTUMN; it's going to snow very soon; it's COLD. WHY THE FRICK WOULD YOU WEAR SHORTS, MUCH LESS SHORT-SHORTS?! That's not even all; she wore FISHNETS with her shorts. FISHNETS! They're like, the sluttiest thing you could imagine wearing (besides just your underwear, or, like, just provocative negligee or lingerie; and that would be....that would be...*shudders* that would be...definitely just for the bedroom, if you choose to do so, in the privacy of your room or house, in front of no one but you, and perhaps your...husband?...)SHE WORE THEM TO SCHOOL! IT'S SCHOOL, NOT A FRICKIN' CLUB! Jeez. FISHNETS! I haven't seen a person wearing fishnets to school, like, EVER! Not even outside of school! ARGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ok. I'm done. If you agree with me on this subject, I merely ask you to not wear fishnets and short-shorts to school. Especially not when it's not even 60 degrees out.
Luv, Lynda
P.S. For those of you who skipped down here cuz you believe I'm angelic, I think y'all are absolutely adorable!(Alliteration!)

Last Tuesday of September!

I notice, upon looking this over, that this post seems a bit overreactory and giant-squid-of-anger-like. Perhaps I went a little overboard with all the bold and CAPS LOCK OF DOOM. . .?
Ah, well. You have been warned; the following post may be a bit bratty.
Tomorrow is Carrie's birthday!  :D It's going to be totally awesome, you know. I'm currently making the banner with a combination of Gimp and Picnik; it's quite nice.

I now have completely given up on science class, at least for the time being. For the past week, we've been doing endless significant figure, scientific notation, and factor label "practice problems" that are all annoying, badly formatted ("I forgot to make those exponents superscripted," my science teacher says when faced with a problem like "7.9x10-4," which, as you can see, is an entirely different problem without the frikkin' superscript), and all-around tiresome and stupid.
The last problem of yesterday's homework was a problem in which one had to somehow convert pounds-per-inch-cubed into grams-per-milliliter. The problem did not specifically say that it applied to water (which is the only instance I know of right now for which converting between inches cubed and milliliters is possible). Oh, no. Instead, it only said "an object."
Now, one is OBVIOUSLY not allowed to assume that the object whose density is being measured is water; that would be an incorrect assumption in most cases. In fact, the most recent lab my class did completely and utterly FAILED because practically everybody just assumed that mass=volume (like it does for water at certain temperatures). So their densities were all one, and it was ridiculous.
Of course, that fact seems to have ENTIRELY ESCAPED my dear science teacher, who, when asked how to do the problem (my classmates, apparently, have grown some sense and did not assume that the problem was talking about water), just said, "Oh, yeah, the problem was talking about water. After all, that's the only way you can solve it."

Right.
Right.
Please excuse me for a moment, while I go and scream out my frustration.

YOU CANNOT JUST ASSUME STUFF IN SCIENCE! IF THE PROBLEM DOES NOT EXPLICITLY SAY "WATER," TEACHER, YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO EFFIN' ASSUME ANYTHING! AAAAARRRRRRGGGGH! D:<

Obviously, I need to go scream some more. And maybe swear a bit while I'm at it.

So, yeah. My science teacher is annoying, and I seriously cannot imagine spending another eight and a half months with her.
>.<

That's all I have to say. Lynda's usually the ranter, but I needed to blow off steam.

Pre-K....?

Hullo. I just wanted to mention that no one has specifically told me what I was going to do for my punishment. Yeah. Anyways, today is a very important day...er, was. <-Cuz the important thing happened already...but then, there's another important thing later on, so...ah, today wasill(my combination of was and will. Not very creative, but whatever) very important. My brother, today, in the morning, from, like, 9:30-10:30am, was at school. YAYAYAYAYAYAY!!!!!!! I CANNOT BELIEVE MY BROTHER'S AT SCHOOL!!! I'm soooo proud of him! Technically, today was merely a little introductory thing, and today is a half-day, and on Monday, it'll be the start of full days. My little bro, we'll call him....Mouse(it has to do with his name ; )), is 2, turning 3 in September, and from now on, he'll be going to Day School! And now, I shall ask a question. Am I allowed to call that Day Schooler, a Pre-K student? I mean, tecnically, he is Pre Kindergarten. So, uh, my point is, when I filled out a questionnaire, and wrote "Mouse-Age: 2, Grade: Pre-K", was I right?
This afternoon, will be the Orientation for Kindergartners. My little sister will be one this year! I feel so...*sniffle*...it's so strange, my little siblings are growing up! *sniff sniff* *gulp* *wail*...
Alright. That's about it. ooh. I forgot! Normally, I try not to rant here, because I have my own ranting blog(which...I should update :P), and well...today I just feel like ranting a bit.
So there's this lovely new webcomic that xiy has introduced me to, and it's just...wonderfully hilarious. I loooovee it. BUT! It's sooooo short, and right now, it's not being updated fast enough! I've finished the whole thing, and I really want to know what happens!!!! ARGHHH!!!!
That's it!
پھر محبت!!<-That means: "luv ya" in Urdu...I love that name, Urdu...
