Hey~
Y'all probably noticed for yourselves by now, but it's insanely hot here. I don't know how it's been for you crazy world travelers, but omg it is scorching in the states.
I've been in Rhode Island for the past little while, and my Fourth of July was actually pretty lovely. Like, all the family there can sometimes get hectic and make everyone more than a little angsty, but crazy levels were kept at a pretty nice, moderate amount. We went to our usual minor league game, a visit made sweeter by a Pawsox victory ^.^
Sadly, my diet that lately has been made up of fried dough, (diet) soda, and fries with vinegar is coming to a sorrowful end. Tuesday starts official summer training for soccer! While it'll be lovely getting back on the field, I'm not exactly excited to run and run and run and run... and runrunrun x.x But with eight [8. EIIIGHHHTTTTTT] seniors' from last year's spot open in varsity, there's a lot of pressure to take up the burden, especially with one of our only two [2. ONLY TWWWOOOOOOOOO] seniors this year off on injury. Gah. gah gah gah.
I miss all you guys, but hopefully I'll be seeing some of you in band camp soon ^.^
With all due respect,
House.

School Tomorrow Is Making Me Want to D: D: D: D: D:
WE HAVE SCHOOL TOMORROW.
NOOOOOOGH. (*cue sobbing*)
This is very unsatisfying to me.
So unsatisfying, in fact, I cannot possibly focus on anything else besides how miserable I am about returning to the cruel cruel cruel world of annoying cliques, letter grades, evil teacher[s], and slang terms I still don't really understand that is high school.
After hearing me whine about my hatred for school and my blogger's block, a friend suggested I draw something for the blog.
... I did.
Actually, I drew it in the past ten minutes, and I'm only just getting to the word portion of this post now. But you wouldn't know that if I told you! Wow! Um, blogging magic!
Umm, yeah. That's about all I did this week.
Cry over school, draw stuff, and stare at pretty stars in the name of science.
Well, that just about wraps up this week's episode of
With all due respect,
House.
P.S. Happy Chinese New Year! Yay! Xin nian kuai le! 新年快乐!Woohoo, celebration!

Let me tell you a little bit about what I drawded.
This is a pig. Her name is Jessie The Pig. She has a kind heart and periwinkle eyes that sparkle. She lives with me. The sky is orange because it is very late at night (or veryyyy early in the morning I guess is more accurate), and the sky gets weirdly but prettily orange here at that time. She's smiling because she likes the orangey sky.
The funnest part of Jessie The Pig to draw was her tail. Her tail is curly.
While looking for the file of Jessie The Pig, I found this lovely image:
Whoaaa what in the gosh darned heck is that?
It's the Rosette Nebula! Look how pretty it is!
We had our first Science Olympiad invitational of the year yesterday, and one of the ~~*surprise events*~~ I received late Tuesday night (just part of the fun of being an alternate woohoo three four [SUPER SURPRISE EVENT] events in fourish days) was Astronomy. One of the things I was frantically searching while sobbing on Google was this sexilicious nebula. Cool, right. Right. Very cool. How cool? So cool. Yes.
Umm, yeah. That's about all I did this week.
Cry over school, draw stuff, and stare at pretty stars in the name of science.

Finals and Finals and Finals and Sadness.
Hellooo.
Oh, gosh. We are in the middle of finals x.x (At least NHD is over for now...)
Thankfully, the two that I think were hardest for me, APUSH and algebra, are over. Sooo lovely. I spent a while after the math final on Friday on the phone with Lynda, sobbing with her over how we're never gonna graduate/go to college/make it past tenth grade and how little we want to take Tuesday's biology final.
The next couple days will be spent studying for biology, which I hope isn't too bad, maybe, hopefully? ^.^"
*sighs* Ummm, not much has been going on in my life lately.
Momo, Virgil, and xiy all got their copies of The Fault in Our Stars, so they've been spazzing the frick out over how sad and amazing it is. We've decided to read it for our book club, and since I wasn't devoted enough to buy my own special copy, I'm borrowing xiy's. I'm not, like, a giant fan of John Green's stuff, but I like it on occasion, and I hear that this one is really good. So I get to read that once finals are over. It should be a really lovely way to unwind :)
Finals. Yeah. Finals... eghhhh. I no likey.
Anyway, I should go back to making Latin flashcards now.
I have such an exciting life. omg. You can't even comprehend how exciting.
With all due respect,
House.

Marie-Joseph Paul Yves Roch Gilbert du Motier, Marquis de La Fayette is a very long name oh gosh x.x
Helloooo.
I have finally learned the meaning of sophomore year, and it is NHD. More accurately, the destruction of your life, courtesy of NHD. Also known by its full name, "National History Day," it steals the lives of young children with much potential across the nation in its cold, dead grip. I'm already regretting agreeing to take on this beast x.x (at least I have the most brilliant partner in the world, xiy, and together, hopefully we shall be able to overcome the horrors in store.)
... and tomorrow's only the second deadline of the longgggg project. Oh, my.
In other news, sophomore year is progressing nicely. My daily amount of YouTube watching has diminished to almost nothing, but that's alright. At least I've found some new music to study to.
I can't believe it's fall! It's very autumn-y here. There are lots of leaves on the ground, and the weather is even more temperamental than it usually is. I'm quite happy about the leaves falling, though, since it means now is leaf-raking time! I do like raking leaves. It's so much fun, and you have such a lovely pile to jump in at the end of your hard labor ^.^
I also like fall because it marks the beginning of cold weather time, otherwise known as tea and hot cocoa time, otherwise known as my favorite time of the year {seeing as how it correlates so nicely to hoodie and sweatshirt time}. Also, October is over, so I needn't live my everyday life in constant terror.
Other recent developments in my life:
- I saw a very fluffy puppy today and successfully resisted the urge to steal it for my own.
- The hair atop my head has gotten longer.
- I've lost many of my pencils/pens that I started out with in the beginning of the year, which means I get to dig a little deeper into my supply for the rest of the school year.
- Lauren Lopez talked to me, looked me in the eye, and brushed her hand on my by accident. Thus, my life has been lived to its fullest and I am now entirely satisfied with the Universe.
- Oh, and 11/11/11 11:11 happened! Did you guys make a wish? :D
... and so ends your weekly adrenaline rush from reading my fabulously interesting post. ta-daaa.
With all due respect,
House.

Hello!
... so I just realized I get to have the honor of posting on Halloween Eve. Eeeeeeeeep >.<"
It's been such a weird week! I have actually had (a few of) my evenings and nights free! No soccer! What! Ohmygoodness! (And Lynda still has lots of crew! Teehee!) It's been really weird. I've actually had time to start my homework, like, before nine o'clock pm. Soooo weird. What is this. No weekly sprints? What will I ever do.
*sigh* It's still been a really long week, though. Lots of things to be done >.<
My and Lynda's biology class did... err, not as excellently as we all were hoping to do on our scary huge cellular respiration test (*cue music* CELL RESPIRATION... WOO HOOO). Tomorrow I expect us to be attacking him with "Are you sure the answer key was correct?" "I said the same as hers/his, but I didn't get full points!" "No, you definitely told us in class that the answer was B! *sobbing*" "Whyyyyyyyy? D':"
Eghh. We'll see.
It's my bedtime now, however. Sorry to cut this post so short >.<

wazzup y'all
Hello!
Last night was our school's homecoming dance and football game and parade for all the extracurricular activities' clubs' floats. Our football team lost the game 14 - 21, but the game was pretty good, and our band was as shiny and fantastic as usual. The parade also went pretty well. This year's theme was Dr. Seuss, so a lot of the floats were, um, creative :)
And the dance.
First of all, I totally loveee seeing everyone all dressed up and groomed and everything. (Especially the boys. They, like, even shower.) It's so lovely! Everyone looks so pretty ^.^ (Especially Carrie!!!! Gurrrrlllll. You guise, she looked super duper pretty in a lavender dress.)
But yeah. Homecoming... it was pretty good. I had a lot of fun, at least :)
The music was, uh, not too varied from general heavy bass rap, so I don't exactly see my friends enjoying themselves there, so I hope their "anti-homecoming" party thing went well ^.^
And... yeah.
Let me update you on my life.
SOCCER ENDED! NO! YES! WHAT???
I cannot believe this. What am I supposed to do?
I will miss my muddy fields and lovely teammates and being able to shove people to the ground* in the sacred name of such a wonderful sport! D: Buuut I suppose it will be nice to have, you know, nights where I can start homework at a decent hour and all ^.^
Ohmigoodness. So yeah, that happened. And off-season training will probably be starting soon, then.
Aaand soccer ended because now's it's October >.<
I really dislike October. Why? First, soccer comes to an end. Second, I'm really weird, and my teeth chatter whenever it's the slightest bit cold, and this is usually when that phenomenon starts. And lastly, it's when all the horror movies start coming out >.<
Eeeeep. Horror movies. I don't mind that they come out and that people go see them, but the trailers are so sudden and scary and dark and all have creepy music, and you never know when they're coming! *shudders* I really, really, really dislike horror movies. Like, a lot. Also haunted houses. And sometimes skeletons.
So yeah. October. Eghhhr. That's what's up, pretty much.
With all due respect,
House.
*Hehe, being a defender is fun.

Winning!
Hello!
Though it's been a really hard week, this weekend has been a really good weekend for me :]
Friday night, my beautiful soccer team gathered at the house of one of our seniors to participate in some hardcore team bonding. We made really prettyful tie-dye tees ^.^
Aaaand then on Saturday, as you all know, our school's football team won their first game! Yay! And the soccer team won our first game, too! Ahhhh! So many exciting things.
It's been kinda rainy and ickyish on and off here, so the fields around the city are an absolute mess. My poor soccer cleats after our game were totally caked in mud, as were most of the players on both teams, haha.

You're just lucky the smell can't be transfered through the computer screen. |
I think the team bonding thing really helped the team. Like, we're all actually friends this year, as sappy as that sounds. Last year, pretty much nobody had team spirit, there was a pretty cliquey divide, and it felt like nobody wanted to give 100%. Buuuut this season is different, yay :D
So yeah. Kinda excited for this week, since there's going to be a lot of soccer and fun and things, but I'm also really stressed, since I know there's going to be a lot of school work :/ *sigh* but it's all gonna be good.
With all due respect,
House.
P.S. Homecoming is soon! As far as I know, of the 6LCF, just Carrie and I are going. (Partying it upppp.) That's also really exciting ^.^

hoodies and cold piccolos
Hi hi.
My fingers are cold as I type this. Yes, fellow curly fries and members of the curly fry army, colder weather has set in for the past little while. I kind of like the colder weather, since hoodies are like one of my favorite things ever. But with the cold come sadface things, like out of tune piccolos covered in frost and audition+try-out season.
Buuuuut try-outs and auditions are nearly over :]
Momo and I made it into the band we auditioned for!! Gah, exciting. And Virgil (who was in the group last year 'cause she's so swag) made third chair, which is practically second chair, since there are two co-first chairs. Yayyy!
Coming up this week are auditions for the second band, which Carrie's auditioning for. We send her the best of luck :) {She's gonna be brilliant, no worries there.}
Our lovely three hundred and something person marching band is continuing to improve at a very lovely pace, as is the JV soccer team. The flute squad slants look straight and wonderful, and more and more teammates are learning the wonderful benefits of ~~*passing*~~ the ball.
*sigh* my life has deteriorated to school (daytime), soccer (after school), and music (the weekends).
Hope you're all well. (And that xiy's mouth doesn't hurt too much! :( )
With all due respect,
House.

sleepyyy
Hey, guys.
It's my bedtime soon. Very very very soon. So this should be a relatively short post sorry sorry sorry.
Every year, my grandparents bring my mum (and me/dad, if we're in town) out to this annual clam bake thing. I spent most of my day there. I'm pretty sure you guys have heard me whine about this before... it's that event totally perfect for me. As a vegetarian, I don't get to enjoy the main feature of the meal, the (allegedly overcooked) clams. I usually just to make sure to eat beforehand. Besides clams and food and more food, ~~Elvis*~~ (this is the color of the gems on his bling he was wearing today) made a very special guest appearance. I've never been much of a fan of people who dress up as other... things {see Disney World terrors}. Or being singled out of a large crowd of people I don't know. Or the music of Elvis being played really really really loudly.
Haha, but my mum really likes the event, which I suppose is what counts, right?
Anyway, once I got home, I spent forever practicing audition music.
Coming up are those gosh darn wind ensemble auditions for our school... gghaghaghhrh. Music. So much music. And it has sixteenth notes that need to go at 152 bpm x.x [Which coincidentally is usually around what my heartbeat sounds like when I'm going into the audition.] Flute auditions are Tuesday. omg. Tuesday. auditions.are.Tuesday.
Hope you guys had a good Sunday and didn't have to spend too much of it terribly saddened over mourning the 9/11 attacks :c
With all due respect,
House.
P.S. that's such a sad note to end on, sorry >.<" did any of you watch the US Tennis Open finals today? Samantha Stosur won, which is pretty swag. alright, goodnight~~~
(*not really Elvis [though he def. had the outfit])

birthday and not much else
Holy snoodeboppers what happened? Blogspot, you got yoself a makeova! Maybe I'll actually like you a bit now :D
Hey, guys.
Last Friday was my birthday! Wasn't that exciting!
xiy drawded me the most beautiful picture!! Did you all see it? It's really cute :]
To celebrate getting through another whole gosh darn year of life, I got to take our very first APUSH essay test of the year! Lynda and Virgil already seem... less than 100% pleased with their grades. Oh boy. This will be fun >.< At least we have a whole year to get acclimated and improve, yeah?
But then I got to finish my day off with a tremendously hot, wonderful game of Friday night football! And the band marched fantastically! And the band played fantastically! And the team played well! Gah, so exciting.
The Six Little Curly Fries are gonna try to do a legit book club thing this year, which is also exciting. The first book we'll be reading is Room by Emma Donoghue. I'm like super duper excited about reading this book ^.^ From what I've heard/read/seen, it's a really legit novel. Also, last year, I felt like the school got really jammed up with work and things, so I wasn't able to take time aside to do fun things like read on my own. I hope this book club thing works out; I think it would be really great to stay, like, actively reading through the year :)
Anyway, that's all I've really been up to lately.
Sorry for the short post. It's been a long week >.<"

one week down, a bajillion to go.
Hello.
This has been quite the eventful week. All six of us have survived the beginning of sophomore year! Huzzah! I feel like coming back to school is a little bit easier this year than it was freshman year. Like, it's easier for me to get back into the learning routine, since we sort of already have an idea as to what the teachers expect of us, the layout of the school, etc.
Our lovely JV soccer team played our first game of the season this week. We were up at against a really good school, and I kinda expected to lose.
The opposing team started off strong, setting up really good passing triangles and attacking us right away in our defending third. After a few minutes of play, they had their first really good shot on goal. Our goalie (she's awesome) dove for the ball, which sailed really nicely into the lower right corner (shooter's view) of the net. A loud *THUNK.* was heard around the field. At first, we thought the ball might have hit one of the posts, but then we saw our goalie facedown on the turf, motionless.
omg, our team totally freaked out.
It turns out her head struck the goalpost pretty hard. She ended up needing stitches for a nasty cut above her eyebrow. (We ended up losing 0-8.) Since she's obv. going to be taking some time off for recovery, we're not gonna be having her with us for the next couple weeks.
Fingers crossed!
*thinks* uh, yeah. That's about it. As of now, my life = AP US History, AP Bio, soccer, marching band, coveted naps, and audition music for wind ensemble X.X
{oh oh oh and Latin Club's first meeting is this Wednesday! gah exciting.}
aghghghhh. okay. sleep time nao.
With all due respect,
House.

Hey, guys.
First of all, HAPPY BIRTHDAY, XIY! <3 <3 <3 :)
Today is our lovely xiy's birthdayyy. We wish her the very best =(^.^)=
Other exciting things are happening this week. For one thing, our lovely Virgil will be back with us, posting away about Harry Potter and things. And yay that Virgil is back, since that means she'll be lovely and in time to attend marching band camp!!! Marching band camp starts this week, you guise!!! I can't wait to be back in the three hundred+ person band our lovely school boasts. I mean, if walking back and forth in the blistering sun, being yelled at by a few teachers and upperclassmen, and getting awkward suntans isn't fun, I don't know what is.
Woooo, marching band.
Also, more soccering this week! We've got two scrimmages to look forward to. Our lovely JV team actually started pre-season off really well, winning our first scrimmage last week 3 - 0 :) Looks like this is gonna be a better year than last, which is excellent.
Buuuuut... *sighs* This week is our last full week before school starts D:
I don't know about you guys, but I wish we had a little bit longer until having to return to deadlines and snarky teachers and really icky bathrooms.
Anyway, iz now my bedtime.
I hope you guys spend your last week of freedom well ^.^
With all due respect,
House.
P.S. Can you believe it? We're sophomores! Huzzah!

Soccer try-outs are tomorrow.
... omg, soccer try-outs are tomorrow.
As of now, our coach is planning on making a JV team, a varsity team, and a bubble team that will practice with varsity and play in the JV games. (He's rather persistent about keeping his starting eleven playing for most of the game, so those bubble team players wouldn't be getting much playing time in a varsity game.)
Since I'm really not sure at all which team I'll be making {though I'm preparing for JV}, I have three victory songs lined up for when the results are posted tomorrow night at 6:30 pm, an hour after our evening session of try-outs. A victory song for making JV (since I'll be looking forward to leading a great team), a more-victory song for making varsity (since then I'll get to play alongside some really great players and coaches), and a super-victory song if I'm on the bubble team. I see the bubble team as ideal for my situation, since practicing with players better than I am is the best way for me to improve, and game time is always important for experience.
Technically, I think the coaches all have a pretty good idea as to who is going to be on which team. Tomorrow is really for seeing which girls are going to show up that we haven't seen for the past two months... well, and seeing how far we're willing to be pushed >.<
Anyway, enough soccer talk.
Marching band camp is starting soon! I'm actually kind of excited for this football season to start. Running the same drills in the sun over and over isn't very fun, but it will be nice to be back in the big (BIG) band setting with my band friends again ^.^
School's starting soon, too.
Ughhhh, having deadlines to meet once more will be fun... but at least we won't be freshmen! :)
*sighs* I should go to bed, considering the first session of try-outs start at nine am.
Hope you all are enjoying the last bits of summer!
With all due respect,

Keep Calm and FIND THE QUILL
Hello.
Today is July 31st, which is a day to be celebrated across the world! First of all, it's my boyfriend's birthday (happy birthday!). Second of all, it's J. K. Rowling's birthday (!!!). Third of all, it's Harry Potter's birthday (zomg). AND today was the first of seven days on which clues [that can leadno-lifer nerds users to access Pottermore early] are released! Zomg so many exciting things!!!
I spent the past week waking up obscenely early, slaving away from 9:00 am to 12:30 pm, which means this week I'll be waking up obscenely early, slaving away from 9:00 am to 11:00 am, which means this is the week before tryouts! Ahhh! (My personal favorite portion of tryout day is when we're told to run laps around the fieldinfinitely until the coach tells us to stop. As we're dying running, the coach will blow a whistle periodically, signaling to us to start [and then stop] sprinting.)
So, yeah. Besides soccer and muddling through summer homeworkand Tumblr, I haven't been up to much. Just sorta melting away in the heat. (I got a very pretty watch today, which I'm quite happy about. It's shiny; I think Lynda would definitely approve. [It also didn't cost very much, which she would also defo approve of ^.^])
*sighs* and now it is my bedtime. Have a good week, guys.
With all due respect,
House.

soccer soccer soccer and flute
Hey, guys.
Apparently, I'm supposed to take some time off from obsessing over Alan Rickman's excessive amounts of awesome [and how hot Matthew Lewis has gotten] to write this post. Idk how well this is going to go, then...
Japan won! Yay for them! The game was mental, which I'm assuming those of you that knew the World Cup was going on already are aware of, since you had to have watched. Gahhhhahhahahhhhh.
Anyway, yeah. I've been keeping busy, mostly with soccer training/camp/practice (for the oh-so-soon pre-season!). I've been running my butt off between band rehearsals, sips of Gadorade, and quick showers, pretty much :P (Also, I've been doing a teeny bit of summer homework... not enough to, like, exert myself, but I've done a little. I took the final for this online health course thingy, so I'm officially done with listening to this lady from BYU lecture me on abstinence, hooray!!)
That's about it. Sorry about the short post... I kinda need to go to bed, you know, since soccer training doesn't go very well with being ~totally nocturnal >.<

omg this is the end.
Hello.
I'm back home! Yay :) Though I do miss the coast a ton already... but being back here is nice.
And my cousin got married yesterday! Yayyy for the happy couple. I had a lot of fun with the family and food [omg baclava] and all. But I guess I'm really unfamiliar with wedding customs...? Before a couple months ago, I didn't know that there was a matron of honor. I mean, that makes sense, but I'd never really heard of it. And ushers leading women down the isle to be seated? What? >.< Maybe I should get out of the house more...
*segue* lol xiy taught me spelling!
And I will be getting out of the house for sure tomorrow, bright and early (nince o'clock a.m.) for the kicking off of soccer training! Yayayayay soccer! I'll be sweating off half my body weight on the same field for the next short ever.
Ohmigoodness...
I really hope I survive this training session >.<
So... yeah. I guess I should warn you guys that for the next while, my posts will be mostly about soccer and training and things ^.^"
Oooh, also, HP7 is coming out ridiculously soon.
Like, Virgil's-about-to-burst-into-tears soon.
Like, the entirefandom world is about to blow up July 15th.
Holy cow.
Okay. I shouldn't think about it too much. Or else I might get all emotional.
*sighs* I should go run before it gets too dark.
With all due respect,

FIRE
Hello :D
I'm still on vacation, chilling on the East Coast. Today we celebrated my aunt's fiftieth birthday (yayy), which was fun. And then we went down to see a bonfire at a beach that's really close by. There has been a lot of fire this week... two firework shows that we saw (and lots of smaller ones going on around us) and the bonfire and the candles on the cake and sparklers kids were twirling about dangerously close to rather tall grass.
Not much headway has been made on the homework front... *ignores*
We went to a minor league baseball game. The mascot was really scary; he brought back ratherrecent bad memories of being trapped against my will in that blasted costume. And our team lost, sigh. But it was still really fun :) There was lots of fried dough and frozen lemonade and pizza.
Also, there is much cake here.
And cookies.
And quite a lot of potato chips.
Oooh ooh ooh and today we went down to the beach. I like the beach, just not the jellyfish. But I'm a seaglass collector extraordinaire :P
Anyway, I should get back to the family etc.
And (tomorrow) happy Fourth of July :D America! Yay!
With all due respect,
House.

summer summer summer and APUSH
Hullo.
House is on vacation, chillaxing on the East Coast. Personally, I think Lord Buddha got the coordinates wrong when He dropped me off in Hefei, China; I was supposed to have been born either in London, Paris, or Boston. But that's okay. The squinty eye thing is pretty swag.
At the moment, I've got a lovely view of the bay; the room smells of saltwater; the neighbors are taking their dogs for rides around in golf carts. The kitchen is stocked with so. much. food. I like totally love it here :) {The kids that live here just got out of school! Like, omg. They have to make up so many days for snow and heat and other days off, so their schoolyear extends like wayyy far. Mental.}
On the drive over here (12 freakin hours), I was like totally determined to getall most some of my APUSH homework done. So far, I have 1/2 the Chapter One vocab completed ^.^"(However, I did totally finish this online health course thing we have to do {in exchange for slaving away in a boring classroom for one whole wasted semester}! yayyy. now I just have to take the final... [Fun fact: Today is International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking.])
Anyway. Sorry, guys. I don't have much time to type, since I'm supposed to be getting ready to go to my grandparents' 56 {zomg} anniversary dinner.
Bai! Hope all of you guys are enjoying summer :)

To the dads of the 6LCF/the dad of anyone reading this/YOU, if you are a dad:
Happy Father's Day!!! <3
You guys definitely deserve a day to be recognized.
Thank you so much for being so very awesome (and raising such awesome kids) :]
We hope today that you celebrated accordingly ^.^
Yay, summer!!! Ahh, we're on break! Yay :D
Okay. Now that formalities are out of the way...
So, my post from last week technically counts as my childhood fear.
However.
I was a rather, um, emotional child, and I had a lot of fears. And when I went digging through my old files for a picture I drew a little while ago for no apparent reason, I found this:
![]() |
The year is divided into two seasons for me: PINK sweatpants time (fall/winter) and not sweatpants time (summer/spring) |
I just don't like jellyfish, okay?
When I was little, roaming the beaches of the East Coast, I spotted a bubble of saltwater sitting in the middle of the sand. I was like, "Oh, how fun! A bubble of water! Hooray!! :D :D :D <3 " But then I poked it AND IT WAS A WASHED-UP JELLYFISH AND IT WAS HORRIBLE. >.<
So now I get all twitchy and paranoid if I'm walking barefooted on a beach.
*shivers*
Let's move on.
I found a horcrux! Even though I'm not in the

recent scarring events.
ohai.
If you've been paying attention at all, you should know I'm a paranoid little child who lives in constant terror of jellyfish, horror movies, and jellyfish.
But little House was an even more weird House, and there was one aspect of many birthday parties, trips to amusement parks, sporting events, and street fairs that terrified the crap out of me.
Those freakin people dressed up as things.
Like, at Disney World? The characters that walk around?
![]() |
"WHY... HELLO THERE, LITTLE GIRL." |
Yeah, those. *shivers*
Anyway. So a couple nights ago, Lynda, xiy, and I volunteered at a local public library to help out with this annual ice cream social. When the nice lady organizing the whole event had called me ~a week ago, I'd said whatever job was okay. Like, giving kids temporary tattoos can't be any more enriching than, like, running the sidewalk chalk station, right? Wrong.
Upon arrival, I discovered that my job was being the Summer Reading Bee's Helper.
![]() |
"THIS CHILD LOOKS PARTICULARLY SCRUMPTIOUS TONIGHT." |
(I swear, the actual costume looks exactly like that.) [Minus the eyebrows.]
So, I thought I would be let off "easy" and only have to escort this waddling bundle of bloody nightmares and terror for two hours. But no. The girl in the bee outfit got "overheated" after a few minutes, so I got to take a turn in the bee costume of hideous murder and death.
I felt really bad for a lot of the kids... they would be like, "No, mommy! No bee!! NO BEE!!!" And the mom would be like, "Oh, but look how friendly :D :D :D Hugs for the bee! Hugginggggg!"* And the kid would be like, "AHHHH NO BEE NO BEE NO BEE NO BEE NO BEE D: D: DX DX DX"
I totally sympathise with the kids. *sighs*
Also, I suck at being the bee. My glove fell off once -.-"
Inside smelled of incense and lady shampoo. After showering twice (I'm going for a third in a couple minutes), I still can smell traces of it in my hair.
And that's been my weekend.
With all due respect,**
House.
**Unless you're someone who routinely dresses up in those freaking costumes. In your case, you also deserve many memories of horrified faces of poor, scarred children. And also a lifetime of guilt for damaging those poor kid's psyches so badly.
*In that blasted costume, btw, "hugging" means (since you can't see much below your shoulders. two year-olds are rather short.) feeling random, sudden, and oddly gentle {considering the material for the costume was rather thick} contact on your waist-to-knee region. Such the greatest way to spend a Friday night...
