o.hai!

So... um... my birthday is kind of in 5 days. js. Not like I'm counting or anything. :P

Today, the 6LCFs' highschool's football team won their first game! :D It was incredibly exciting, especially since we don't usually win games. Like, ever. -.-"

I just watched a movie! ^.^ It was called Leap Year. If you're into chick flicks/romantic comedies, you'd like it. :P I'm a romantic comedy type of gal, so naturally I loved it. :)
On a side-note: I'm talking to Eggr, and he just told me that he'd watch anything with me, even a chick flick. ^.^ Okay, I'll stop now. :P

I am going to attempt to write a somewhat long-ish post. Maybe I'll actually succeed this time, unlike every other post that I said would be a long one. ...Eh, probably not. I apologize, I love talking and telling people about everything, but I'm just so lazy. It's horrible! Pweasedon'thateme.

Let's see... what can I talk about? I'm a really boring person, I don't have much to talk about. Maybe I'm just weird about what I put on the internet (IE: blog posts)

Well, there's a question I have: what's the real difference between i.e. and e.g.? I seem to always mix them up, and then I feel really stupid. I know e.g. is like "for example,...", but for some reason I always mix it up with i.e. and when I catch myself, I'm always wondering what i.e. actually means. It's like hydroxl and carboxyl in bio; they sound so similar, but they're really completely different. Well, kinda.
Eh, I don't want to get into that now. Bio hurts my brain sometimes. Plus, I studied for like an entire hour today for my test on Wednesday. *cue groans* I have a German test that day, too! D: *crawls into corner and gets into fetal position* It's not that I don't like either class, it's just those are my two hardest classes, believe it or not. (Well, German isn't THAT hard, neither is bio... but the tests are kinda hard, and if you can't tell, I really don't like tests.)

I'm enjoying the book we just finished reading for book club. :P I think it's brilliant.
I love that word. Brilliant. It's such a nice sounding word. It makes everything else sound twice as fantastic as it already is. Brilliant.

I believe that this was a very nice length for a post. :) I feel very accomplished.

'kay. Bye!
DFTBA! ♥

Smiles, hugs, and lot of love,
Carrie

woooooaaahhhh!

Hi.

Happy Saturday. :)

Let's see heeeeere... what did Carrie do today?
Well, I woke up. Then, I had to attend the pep band game for my school against this private school. The weather was really weird today. It was like raining, and then it became all sunny and hot. I didn't really like it. Weather needs to stop being so indecisive. Gr. :( But then after the game I went to Eggr's house for like an hour. That was fun. :) Now I'm just chilling at home, facebook, and watching Chicago (finally!). :D

This has been a very nice day. ^_^

Yay! 6LCF book club starts on Monday! :D

Umm... I'm getting too sidetracked from this. Sowwy. :c
k.bai!

DFTBA!♥

Smiles, hugs, and lots of love,
Carrie

birthday and not much else

Holy snoodeboppers what happened? Blogspot, you got yoself a makeova! Maybe I'll actually like you a bit now :D

Hey, guys.
Last Friday was my birthday! Wasn't that exciting!
xiy drawded me the most beautiful picture!! Did you all see it? It's really cute :]

To celebrate getting through another whole gosh darn year of life, I got to take our very first APUSH essay test of the year! Lynda and Virgil already seem... less than 100% pleased with their grades. Oh boy. This will be fun >.< At least we have a whole year to get acclimated and improve, yeah?

But then I got to finish my day off with a tremendously hot, wonderful game of Friday night football! And the band marched fantastically! And the band played fantastically! And the team played well! Gah, so exciting.

The Six Little Curly Fries are gonna try to do a legit book club thing this year, which is also exciting. The first book we'll be reading is Room by Emma Donoghue. I'm like super duper excited about reading this book ^.^ From what I've heard/read/seen, it's a really legit novel. Also, last year, I felt like the school got really jammed up with work and things, so I wasn't able to take time aside to do fun things like read on my own. I hope this book club thing works out; I think it would be really great to stay, like, actively reading through the year :)

Anyway, that's all I've really been up to lately.
Sorry for the short post. It's been a long week >.<"

With all due respect,
House.

Thisposthasnosubjectyay!

Today is Thursday.

The last Thursday before...

..it...

D:
We shant speak of it.

Anyway. Tomorrow is our marching band performance. All of the squads (groups of 4-5 of like instruments) can dress up in costumes together.
For example, my group considered:
  1. Disney princesses
  2. Trees (?)
  3. Strippers (not my idea in any way)
  4. Cops that are really strippers (still not my idea)
  5. Harry Potter characters
  6. Skittles
  7. alcoholic beverages (once again, not my idea)
  8. playing cards
  9. dominos
  10. the 7 Dwarves
  11. Antoine Dodsen(s)
  12. Cars
We ended up choosing cars because it would be the easiest. All we're wearing are t-shirts with the logos of various cars on the front.
We're really lazy.

What else?

Uuuh. A giant storm just passed through. It was crazy.

Wasn't that a fun and lazy summer post?

It was.

Bye.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Pt. 2 Review - Part 3 (& other things)

Okay, so this is Part 3 of my Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 review. I started this a month ago... let's see if I can finish it tonight!

I left off at "lightning has struck, I repeat, lightning has struck!"

Now I shall move on to one of my least favorite moments of the movie, but that's okay because right after that is one of my most favorite moments. The least favorite moment is when Ginny walks in and just kind of gawks at Harry, like, "HUH? WHA?" She should have been ecstatic to see him, the love of her life who's been on-the-run-and-possibly-dead for the last eight months. She should throw her arms around him or something. Ron's comment about how she doesn't even say hello to her brother is funny, and then Seamus saying "she only want Harry" was also funny, I guess... but the whole moment was quite awkward, and I feel like the humor was unnecessary in a time that's obviously a transition into the more dangerous-and-serious part of the movie.
Also, in this whole scene, there's a random ginger standing next to Cho Chang who looks like she could be like ten years old. What is she doing in Dumbledore's Army?

After that awkward Room of Requirement thing comes one of the best scenes ever, in any movie, EVER - when Snape calls the students together and asks about Harry Potter's whereabouts, and then Harry just pops out from the crowd and is like, "uh, you've got a security problem." AND THEN the Order of the Phoenix shows up and the crowd goes wild! Snape and McGonagall's duel, although short, was nothing less than truly epic. I don't remember if I've said this before, but Alan Rickman and Maggie Smith basically showed up everyone else in terms of acting.

I was disappointed that all of Slytherin House was escorted to the dungeons, rather than given the choice to fight or go home. I also don't like how they didn't evacuate the underage students - in the book, McGonagall's first priority is to keep the students safe and under control, but in the movie the battle just sort of starts and then everyone in Hogwarts is running every which way with no apparent purpose other than to emphasize the hysteria.

THEY SKIPPED THE SCENE IN RAVENCLAW TOWER. I understand that it was for time's sake, and that the scene is quite pointless in the book because all Harry does is find out what the diadem looks like, but still. I WANTED TO SEE RAVENCLAW TOWER. Oh, well. Maybe that's a good thing, because now the image of the Tower that I have in my mind can remain untainted by the influence of film.

Helena Ravenclaw was SO CREEPY. In that one part when she get's all mad, "HE DEFILED IT WITH DARK MAGIC!!" her eyes get all bulgy and weird, and that was probably the scariest part of the film for me, no joke. I was sad that they cut out the random back story about Helena and the Bloody Baron, but I guess it doesn't actually matter to the plot. Going on simultaneously with this scene - the protection of Hogwarts is truly awesome. That magical shield that the Order & teachers built - it was so well-done! (Although, I must say, it looked better in 2D. The 3D made it a bit cheesy.)

[All these comments about the battle might be a bit out-of-order. It all happened so fast!!]

Around this time, there's a shot of Fred and George talking. "You alright, Fred?"
OH MY GODRIC. This is the part when I started bawling, and I didn't stop until a few days later.

Also, McGonagall activating the suits of armor was pretty BA. I'm not sure if "I've always wanted to use that spell" was really needed, but I can't help but love anything that comes out of her mouth. Neville on the bridge... ah, I love Neville so much. It was so cool how they were able to blow it up.

The Room of Hidden Things was well-done. The Fiendfyre looked really cool (again, the 3D did NOT live up to expectations, but I liked it in 2D) although I'm not sure why they felt the need to stab the diadem with the basilisk fang, when the Horcrux got destroyed by the magical fire anyways. Oh wait, THAT REMINDS ME. I skipped a VERY IMPORTANT PART.

Ron & Hermione 4 evahhhhhh!! ohmygoodness the kiss was perfect. I never ship Ron or Hermione with anyone else because they're both so perfect for each other! (On a side note, I actually did once read a fanfic when Harry and Hermione hooked up, but it was okay because Ron was dead.) I loved it when Ron told Hermione to kill the cup, and she was like I can't do it, and then he just looked her in the eye with such complete trust and told her that she could. Ahhh what a moment. <3 They just make me so happy! There were actually quite a few other R/H moments in this movie that I left out - for example, when they're trying to figure out where Harry went on the Marauder's Map and Ron points out that Hermione once told him that the Room of Requirement doesn't show up on the map, and she was like, "Yeah... I did!" like she was surprised that he remembers what she says. It's because, of course, he savors each word that comes from her lips and stores it up in his heart because he's so in love and OHMYGOSHIHAVETOMOVEON.

Voldemort creeped me out during the final battle. It kept switching back to him, and as the battle progressed, you could sense him getting more and more anxious as well as angry. I love it when he just randomly kills someone. So perfect. This movie really captures his psychotic-ness.

Another great Voldemort moment was when he's talking to Lucius and he asks, "How do you live with yourself?" and Lucius says, "I don't know." It's a very touching moment between two very evil people. Lucius is so torn between his loyalty to his family and his loyalty to the Dark Lord, and Voldemort knows this, and even HE is disgusted by Lucius's inability to choose a side and stick with it. But then Voldemort tells him to bring Severus, and I start crying so hard that I can't even watch.

The Trio's journey from the castle to the boathouse is almost surreal. They somehow get past all of these duels going on at once (I feel like in real life it would be likely that at least one of them would get hit with a spell) and they see dead?Lavender about to get eaten by Fenrir Greyback, and Hermione defends her, which I think was very honorable, because of course she despises Lavender. So yeah - there's like five whole minutes of them running through the battle, past spiders and trolls and various people. This bit is a bit fuzzy in my mind because I was so freakin' emotional. NO SNAPE DON'T NOOO!! (A note about the boathouse: I was okay with the change-of-scenery from where it took place in the book. The Shrieking Shack is ugly. Now my favorite character can die in a beautiful place.)

I'm too tired to fully express my feelings about Snape's death scene. I'm afraid it'll have to wait until Part Four of my review, coming next week! I guess I won't be getting through the whole movie tonight... but I'll try to finish it next time!

--

In other news, marching band has started, and House and I are in the same squad again yayy!! Except this time, I am the squad leader, so I get to boss her around. It's loads of fun. Also, Momo's sister is a field commander, which is quite exciting.

School starts in less than a week. It's hard to soak in when all that's going through your mind is "SCHOOL'S OUT FOR SUMMER" (part of our opener this year). Sigh. I really, really hope that I have classes with the other Curly Fries. If I don't, I will be very sad indeed.

It's crazy that we're sophomores now. It's even crazier that the sophomores are now juniors, and the juniors are now seniors, and the seniors are going off to college. EVERYONE NEEDS TO STOP GETTING OLDER, I CAN'T HANDLE IT. Like xiy, who just had a birthday. IT'S NOT OKAY. (Just kidding. I love birthdays! Did you see the banner I put up? Major artistic talent right thur.)

That's all, folks.

Love,

Virgil

band camp band camp band camp

Hey, guys.

First of all, HAPPY BIRTHDAY, XIY! <3 <3 <3 :)

Today is our lovely xiy's birthdayyy. We wish her the very best =(^.^)=

Other exciting things are happening this week. For one thing, our lovely Virgil will be back with us, posting away about Harry Potter and things. And yay that Virgil is back, since that means she'll be lovely and  in time to attend marching band camp!!! Marching band camp starts this week, you guise!!! I can't wait to be back in the three hundred+ person band our lovely school boasts. I mean, if walking back and forth in the blistering sun, being yelled at by a few teachers and upperclassmen, and getting awkward suntans isn't fun, I don't know what is.
Woooo, marching band.

Also, more soccering this week! We've got two scrimmages to look forward to. Our lovely JV team actually started pre-season off really well, winning our first scrimmage last week 3 - 0 :) Looks like this is gonna be a better year than last, which is excellent.

Buuuuut... *sighs* This week is our last full week before school starts D:
I don't know about you guys, but I wish we had a little bit longer until having to return to deadlines and snarky teachers and really icky bathrooms.

Anyway, iz now my bedtime.
I hope you guys spend your last week of freedom well ^.^

With all due respect,
House.

P.S. Can you believe it? We're sophomores! Huzzah!

We shant be speaking of the horrible tragedy that will come true in 1 1/2 weeks.

No. We will pretend that the s-word doesn't exist.
******
I was sleep-talking last night. Did you all know that I sleep-talk a lot?
I do.
Whenever I share a bed with my mom on vacations or whatever she tells me that I talk in my sleep and she can even have conversations with me.
Anyways.
Apparently I was sitting in my bed going, "HULLO? HULOOOOOOOO?". My mom walked in to see if I was okay and I said something about a devil or something.

I think I should video tape myself sleeping one time. That'd be a guaranteed YouTube hit.
 ******
VIRGIL IS BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But xiy and Lynda are just now leaving for their vay-cay. That makes me sad.
 ******
Next week is band camp!!! I'm so excited to see my friends!!!

Virgil and her twinsie are squad leaders. I already know my squad because my sister is a field commander (conductor) but I wish Virgil's sister was my squad leader. Poo. She's so cool.
******
Aglarblahr. Tomorrow I have to get my teeth cleaned with the stupid blind dentists who think that when they scrape chunks of gum out everything is jolly-good. I hate themmm.
******
I'm gonna miss these summer posts with no subject.
I straightened my hair today and thought of you, Housie-poo!!

WOMEN. SO MANY WOMEN.

Hi hi.

zomg finals, you guys.
finals are coming up.
finalsss.
I was at the track the other day. I brought my Latin notecards with me (*Asian*), but I had initially gone with intent to run as training for soccer. But then I started to run and began to freak out ["I don't know any adverbs I HATE ADVERBS. SEE, THAT SENTENCE LOOKS FINE WITHOUT ADVERBS."], so I ended up walking around the track for a while in the blazing sun, reviewing vocab. {Holy cow, it was hot.} Haha, there were all these actual athletes there that were looking at me funny as I muttered to myself "Eo magis, all the more; tot so many, like in Napoleon Dynamite, SO MANY TOTS..."*
Everything in life relates back to that movie...
So, today was my cousin's bridal shower. (Yayyy she's getting married :) ) And it was really nice and all. The bride&groom are super cute, and really happy :) And I got to see some family I really like that I don't often get to see 'cause of how far away they live! Yay!
But there are so many women. White women, that is.
Not just so many women. All the women. Like, all the women.
(Also, being the only non-white [unless you count spray-on tans] person in the room is always just the most memorable experience. Yayyyy...)

Also, I got my hair cut today. Iz lovely and shorter for the summer nao!

Aghgklfaj;kl I can't wait for it to be summer. Summer is the time for painted nails, pretty dresses, beaches, sleeping in, and watching movies in air conditioned theatres ^.^

Anyway, I should go to bed soon. Marching in the Memorial Day parade tomorrow earlyyy, then a barbecue. Yay for America.

With all due respect,
House.
*Like, I just get that image in my head. The one of him and his attractive cargo pants stuffed full of tots. So. many. tots.

I'm at xiy's house!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I LOVE HER WIDDLE SISTER!!!!! and happy mother's day too :)

{^well, I'm not there anymore. but I was.}
Hello!
@Momo: OMG I LOVE TACOS <3 <3 <3 <3 <3
Happy Mother's Day!! Especially to my mommy, who probably will actually read this. Thanks to all the mums of us 6LCF for putting up with all our strange shenanigans :) You all iz wonderful! Hope you all had a lovely Mother's Day and your kid[s] pampered and tended to you as you saw fit.

I spent quite a lot of my day at xiy's house. We were outlining our 9HD project, seeing as apparently we're going on... haha, we have a bit of work to do, considering how, um, informal our first try at displaying Robespierre's part in the French Revolution on a trifold board was.
Personally, I think neon backing, handwritten captions, paint smudges, and indents from footprints of xiy's widdle sister add sort of a cute touch. {Okay, the whole part where it was two mini trifolds duct taped together was a bit sketchy. But our school is kinda sketchy; it's what we know and love. Of courseeee.}
But our History teacher thinks the judges' opinion might differ.
Whatev.

Um... this weekend has been remarkably and lovely-ly chill. I didn't have to put much effort into anything (yayayayay) besides making my mum a card for Mother's Day.
I did go the library, though!
And now I'm reading The Realm of Possibility by David Levithan. I usually don't read YA, but I really like it :)

All the older kiddies are taking their AP and SAT Subject tests and things. lol @ them. hooray for being young and not taking AP or anything. (though our finals are soon-ish... *cringes* that will not be fun.)

Which means that skool iz almost out!!!! Which is just super exciting!!! Because then real soccer conditioning season legit starts!!! I love dragging my body across a 101°F field and pulling muscles and running until I can't breathe and my lungs collapse into a wrinkled lump!!! Except not!!!

So  yeah. That's about it.
EXCEPT for marching band starts soon! My piccolo and I will be reunited again <3
Can't wait to be back to playing notes >four lines above the staff.

With all due respect,
House.

Making people feel important when they're really not

In a setting where there are a lot of components to making something run smoothly, there are obviously some factors that are more important than others. For example: in a marching band, there are really important people without whom the whole production would probably fall apart, like field commanders or the head snare of the drumline. These people are important

Do you ever notice that during "teamwork" peptalks, important people like field commanders are always getting compared to people who really don't make a difference? "You guys are a team - from the senior field commander to the second flute in the corner. You all make this happen."

Obviously, the person giving the peptalk doesn't think very highly of second flutes. Do you see what I mean? In making that comparison, you are actually undermining that person's morale by trying to make it seem like they're important, when they're really not. The marching band might look about .5% less impressive if that second flute was absent, but really, that's not much of a difference, especially when you have a marching band of 325 people.

Here's another example that's a bit more relevant to those of us who are currently trying to block marching band season from our memories.

Today, I had to go to the annual acolyte training at my church. (An acolyte is the person who walks up and down the aisle at the beginning and end of the service, carrying either a big heavy cross or a "torch," which is a giant candle. Sometimes an acolyte swings around a [fake] dove on a really long stick so that it seems like the Holy Spirit is literally flying over the congregation.)

We received a similar peptalk.

"Everyone who is part of the Sunday morning service is essential. You, the torch-bearing acolyte on the left, are just as important every member of the clergy."

Saying that just makes me feel like I'm wasting my time, because obviously, the service would go on without me. Sometimes there's only one acolyte who shows up on a given Sunday, and the service still goes absolutely fine. You know why? Because you don't really need more than one person walking in front of the choir, carrying a cross. It's all for show. Yet they still feel the need to remind us of our importance - and it's so counterproductive, because when they're saying that you're "just as important as " you automatically know that you actually don't matter at all.

Okay, I'm done with my little rant.

Yesterday, the 6LCF were all staying at Momo's house by the lake for a day, and it was a very fun day, filled with frivolity. We made curly fries (see House's photo below) and ate tacos and watched American Idol and played a game called Phase 10 and talked about boys (shout out to Poofy and EZ!). We also added to a very impressive list of "Things that R round," which was started by House as a way of studying for our Geometry final, which is now (thankfully) in the past. We also went outside, where is was very cold, and Momo almost died because she insisted on testing how frozen the lake was by jumping up and down on top of the ice. The ice didn't break, thank God, but it could have.

If you sneezed while reading this post, bless you!

Bye.

Freedom & NaNoWriMo

Hello, you wonderful people! Today is Saturday, October 30: the LAST DAY OF MARCHING BAND OHYES!!
La la la la, la la la la, Virgil's world! La la la la, la la la la, Virgil's world! Virgil loves her flauta and NaNo too! That's Virgil's worrrrrlllddd!!!

It's a funny feeling: being free. After so many months of being slaves to our band directors and field commanders, we were beginning to forget what freedom was like. Our hands were becoming callused from carrying those razor-sharp podiums (we might as well have been picking cotton) and our blood was slowly turning into bloodsicles from being out in the cold every morning. BUT WE ARE NOW FREE and I am very happy indeed.

Today, as I have already told you, is Saturday, October 30th. This means that there is only ONE DAY LEFT UNTIL NANOWRIMO STARTS OHMYROWLINGIMIGHTACTUALLYDIEEEE!!

...yeah. That basically sums it up.
Also, Halloween is tomorrow. The 6LCF (or at least some of us) will be trick-or-treating together, because you're never too old to get free candy.

My grandparents are in town this weekend, so I'm not really supposed to be antisocial.

BYEEEEE
Peace,
Virgil

The Significance of Numbers

Hello, readers! Today's post isn't going to be about what I did today, even though it was a very interesting array of reasonably good flute-playing, certamen, and then extremely bad flute-playing. No: today's post is going to be about Virgil's love of numbers!!

*theme music*
La la la la, la la la la, Virgil's world! La la la la, la la la la, Virgil's world! Virgil loves Certamen and numbers, too! That's Virgil's woorrrrrlddd!!!!!

As you may have noticed, today is October 9, 2010. Also known as 10/9/10 (in every country other than the US, this would be written as 9/10/10). This means that tomorrow will be the auspicious day of 10/10/10, which only happens every 1,000 years.
Quoth Poofy: " 'Tomorrow is 10/10/10; this day will only come every 1,000 years'... Oh yeah? Well, today is 10/9/10 and it will also only come once every 1,000 years, and no one is making groups about it.... -.-"
Admittedly, I changed up the grammar in the quote a bit >.> but that's basically what he said.

This Facebook status inspired my topic for today's post, which is: why do we have such an obsession with numbers such as 10/10/10, and why are these days more auspicious than every other day?
1. People like patterns. They are pleasing to the eye! This is why people enjoy looking at things such as marching band shows. Marching band drills are written in patterns. Therefore, they are pretty. Six packs are arranged in patterns, and people like six packs.
2. People, for some unknown reason, enjoy glorifying things that do not deserve to be glorified. These things include:
- professional athletes
- film actors
- the Twilight franchise

Yeah, actually, I only have two things. But they're pretty legit.

Um... I don't have much else to say. I'm going to draw a picture, because a picture is worth a thousand words.

It's Dumbledore!!! Yayyyy!!!!

Peace,
Virgil

Marching

Busy day. I marched in a parade with the Latin Club. Our float was the best, even though German Club won. Then I marched in the marching band at a football game. In the rain. A lot of marching today. It was fun.

It's October!!! Yayy!!!

DFTBA,

Virgil

Never Mind

I feel like I've been saying "never mind" a lot recently. I started writing a post about how the band directors at our school are mean, and then I was all, "never mind." I started doing homework, and I literally said, "Never mind." I thought about eating some vegetables and I said--wait, I didn't say "never mind". Never mind. Ah! I think I have a disease called nevermindosytis. Nev--no! I won't say it! I will restrain myself! GAH! Well, since I really don't have much to post about I will go through with talking about the band directors at our school. In short, they are making us play this as an audition piece for the top band. It's crazy hard. I think I might die. Yeah. What else is new? NaNoWriMo's coming up and I still haven't thought of any plots. This could be problematic. On the bright side, though, we are finally going to start a book club! Yay! Thanks to the hard work of xiy, we will finally be starting a book on Norse mythology in two weeks. Notice the poll at the top there (please vote if you haven't already). In the lead are D'Aulaires' Book of Norse Myths and Favorite Norse Myths; check them out or you'll have to read them without getting a say in the matter. That should be exciting. As well as our excursion to somewhere to build-a-bear at a certain workshop next weekend! I am so excited to go because I've never built a bear!!! *excitement*. Well, that's all for today.
@Lynda/anyone else who has discovered this: Please make your own "secret" messages and also write about the red balloon that just floated past your house in the comments. Random. I know.
Love,
~Momo~

P.S. I almost forgot to post today and then when I was wondering whose turn it was to post I realized that yes, it was indeed my turn. I did not forget, though. :)

Virgil Can't Draw

HI!! Welcome to Virgil's world! *cue theme music*
La la la la, la la la la, Virgil's world! La la la la, la la la la, Virgil's world! Virgil loves rectangles and being deep! That's Virgil's worlddd!!!!

Sooo... this week is a theme week? PICTURE POSTS?! Oh dear. Pictures take effort. I'm not sure if I can handle that.

Today was our first home marching band game... er, I mean football game. The football team lost (duh) but the band totally beasted, and that's all that mattered. (WHAT, Firefox? "Beasted" isn't a word? Blasphemy!!)
So, uh, pictures. Right. You should be warned that I have no artistic talent whatsoever.

You might think it's just a bunch of random circles, but that's me being really, really deep.

This one took a really long time to make. I hope you guys appreciate how much I love you.
This is a picture of a dinosaur. Rawr.

His name is Larry. Hello, Larry.

Squiggly Lines!!
OK I'm done. Phew, I'm exhausted now. Time to eat.

DFTBA,
PDBAZ,

GreekGreekGreekGreekGreekGreek!!! etc.

Greek class (that would be the classical, ancient, awesome Greek - not the kind that's actually spoken!) started yesterday and it MIGHT be my new favourite language, though possibly still second to Latin. We learned the whole first half of the alphabet, using those awesome dry-erase strips with a dotted line down the middle to help you form letters, like the ones we used in first grade.

Alpha, beta, gamma, delta, epsilon, zeta, eta, theta, iota, kappa, lambda, mu, nu.

That's as far as we got :) aren't you impressed? All of the 6LCF are taking Greek, with the exception of House and Carrie, because they wish to sleep rather than go to school early and learn another dead language.

Our marching band had our very first football game last night (House, I apologize It's kay. Whatevs. - I'm just reporting things that happened on your day, but the thing is, I just woke up) and the band totally rocked it, even though the football team lost. We had fun :) After the game, Poofy (he chose that codename) and I became "facebook official" so that everyone would have the weekend to simmer down and hopefully not harass us too much. I still fear Monday morning though >.< House is going to have her revenge on me ^_^

In other news, I made pancakes this morning, and I used Momo's mom's idea of adding some cinnamon and vanilla to the mix (she did that to waffles, so I figured it would have the same effect on pancakes) and they tasted delicious. The batter was delicious as well :)

"Why hasn't anyone posted- oh... frick..."

Heyyy.

So... we (as in our high school's marchin' band) just got back from our VERY FIRST EVER game! And it was pretty sweet, I must admit, even though our football team seriously sucks (and we were playing a really good team... the score was, like, thirty-something to zero-zip-nada-wow), I think it'd be right to say that we had a totally awesome time ^_^

In other news:
- We [the 6LCF] have made it!!!!! through our first week of school!!!! Ahhhh! (A lot of the others had their very first Greek lesson this morning, and they're pretty pumped up about dead squiggly lines whose names sound like robots. They'll probably have a fun year.)
- My birthday's in, like, less than a week. But whateves.
- Sixteen year-old Esther ("cookie4monster4"), a Nerdfighter, an inspiration, and a very very very awesome person, has died earlier this week. Which really sucks. Because leukaemia sucks. Because leukaemia's pretty much just the buttiest butt butt die, like, ever. Frikkin cancer. (If any of y'all want more info on/about/concerning Esther's awesome, I'd suggest taking a looksee at the Vlogbrothers' latest video or visiting her channel, cookie4monster4. Idk if any of you guys ever watched her. I did/do. But yeah. Enough of that.)
- Virgil thinks I dressed up too much today. Whatever.
- Virgil's gonna have a BOYYYYYYYYYYFFFFRIIIIIIEEEENNNDDDDD!!!! We can't wait! :D :D :D :D :D

Question:
What other YouTube channels [besides Dan Brown, communitychannel, Green Brothers, Alex Day, Charlie McDonnell, etc.] do you watch?

Hey :D

"We've got to hold on to what we've got/Cause it doesn't make a difference/If we make it or not/We've got each other, and that's a lot/For love... well, give it a shot/Whoooahhhhhhhhh, we're half way thereeeee/Oooooohhhhhhhhh, livin' on a prayer!!"
—Bon Jovi, "Livin' on a Prayer"

Hello ^_^

Busy busy busy day! Our school's marching band [I play picc; Virgil and Carrie are on flute; Momo's clarinet] had our debut appearance today, and we, like, totally rocked it, so my day started out pretty well. Then I had to go the eye doctor's because my contacts are being butts and going all dry and crap on me, but whatever. It's all cool now. (Ooh, and I started a new blog that's more laid back than my one that I've got going now [which has become 60+ drafts of 3/4 written posts... hehe, oops]. Teehee. Sssh.)
Anyway... yeah. (I know this is really really late in posting, but I haven't really had much computer access for the past bit. Forgivesies? :) )

Oooh, and I just spent, like, five and a half hours with my fellow Curly Fries [plus our honorary Curly Fry BFF, Lee]! They're off pulling an all-nighter together. (I left early because I haven't been feeling too great all week, and zero sleep isn't really a fabulous idea right now :) ) I wish them luck on their trek with staying up until much much much later today! Stay strong, girls :) [But if you, like, NEED the sleep, totally go for it. It's all good.] We are going to bury a time capsule with memorabilia from the past couple years, and we're gonna dig it up in about four-ish years. I contributed some of my and Virgil's old band music, a souvenir from a field trip Momo, xiy, and my class went on, and one of the first papers we planned out this blog (the 6LCF blog!) on. Pretty sweet ^_^

[If any of the other 6LCF want to say anything about how the all-nighter is going/went, feel free to say so here. If not, I'm sure Virgil will fill us in later on :)
Lee-hi im tired bye
Momo- Gah!!!! It's almost 5am and we're still up!!! We just watched baby fetuses and stuff. It was really fun. I am so tired. Can't. Wait. Till. Sunrise.
xiy- Neeeeeeeeeeh. There are no words.
Agh. It's painful, staying up this late. We had toast, though, at three in the morning; I had strawberry jelly on mine. It was yummy. Right now, I'm subsisting on the cheese dregs from the pizza we had earlier.
Neeeh. x.X
Carrie-meeehhhh. kgljdabnjgjkglanvjklfyhu... meeehhhh. >.< It's 5 AM. Fun. ^_^
Lynda-*yawn* The sun had better rise fast...I'm going to bed when it does...for 4 hours....it had better rise pretty frickin' fast...REALLY FAST....*last thought going through conscious* RISE SUN, RISE!!!!!!
Virgil- I'm not actually all that tired....a flkfj lafhdljdg *falls asleep on keyboard*

With all due respect,
House (and the rest of the Curly Fries, plus Lee)

Farmer tans and sweat, how delicious...

Why hello there!
ONE. We are the Raiders. TWO. A little bit louder! THREE. I still can't hear you! FOUR. More, more, more!
Meh. I'm sooooo tired. >.< band camp + band camp + school starting soon + exhaustion = even more exhaustion! And that cheer gives nothing away about our location. In fact, my grandparents live in an entirely different town on like, the other side of the state and their mascot/ team are the raiders. I felt a bit special. ^_^ Anywho, this week is just band camp. "Prepare" for school. "Enjoy" the last week of summer. Uniform Fittings... ZOMG! Is that tomorrow??? Hm... And *non* sleep-over (YAY!). Then I'm going to a Greek festival. Fun Fun.
♪"Hey there Delilah, this is your ex-boyfriend, Sampson...."♪ (Haha, that's a funny video. I might put a link somewhere in here.) Linkity-link-link = AWESOMENESS!  Well, maybe I won't put a link since *technically* it's related to the bible. (Oops) But if you want to look it up look up: Tim Hawkins, Delilah skit. So yeah, that's that.
Today, I learned that I can multitask quite well.... not only can I march and play flute at the same time (heh), but I also can text and cross the street, while watching for cars. Skill.
Agh! Procrastination! I'm sorry. >.<
Well, for the most part most of my week has been marching band camp. That's been ok. The songs are pretty cool, especially when we get to sing them. ^_^ Teehee. "WHOA! We're halfway there! WHOA! Living on a prayer!..." Imagine around 325 teenagers shouting this at the top of their lungs. Oh, yes. Good times, good times.
And guess who's beginning to play picc? Hehe...
Hey Hey Hey! Guess who's birthday is in... 1 month and 11 days? Well, first comes House (hers is in15 days)... but then it's me. Yay. Yes, I do plan on having a party. :)

Haha, I'm really procrastinating on this, aren't I? Well then, I guess that's it!
DFTBA! ♥
Whales are awesome. ^_^

Smiles, Hugs, and Lots of Love,
Carrie

P.S.- To Xiy: I'm sorry I never added my bit to the collab post for your birthday. Although, I had tons of fun at your party and really do hope you had the most *spectacular* day. Ever. *Sigh* Also, dreadfully sorry this is a couple days late. >.<

Busy Weeks, Birthdays, and Beastly Memorisation

"You have two choices, and once you've chosen, you have most of your decisions made up for you." —Anon*

Hello ^_^

Dude, xiy's birthday (and birthday party ^_^) is tomorrow! Ah!!! I just got back from running errands all day (new soccer cleats, better shin guards, xiy's birthday gift, and doctor's). It's still actually really hot here, which is excellent because my team's got a super scrimmage tomorrow. (i.e. three games in four hours in the hot horrible ihateyousomuchdie sun)

I'm so excited for xiy's birthday! She's having her very first extra super special birthday party ever!! And keeping up with tradition, we're changing the banner drawing for her birthday. However, xiy is usually the one who does the drawing, seeing as she's the official artist of us six. We obviously can't have the birthday girl see her own banner before it's time, right? ^_^ And so I took up position of making the banner. About twenty seconds into it, I realised how crap I am at drawing people, so instead of drawing the traditional figures, I assigned everyone an animal. Because I'm just barely better at drawing animals ^_^ (Momo is a frog [1]; Carrie is a whale [2]; Lynda is a fish in a bowl [3]; House is a cat [4]; Virgil is a panda with bamboo [5].) I figured I might as well clear that up before it gets posted tomorrow... ^_^

Anyway. This week's been unusually and annoyingly busy, what with soccer and marching band. Ah, well. I suppose it's kinda like them getting us used to the school year once again :)

And with marching band comes lots of new marching band pieces that need to be memorised. And I (being me) am determined to at least try to get some of them memorised by this Monday, when the directors will be open to students playing by memory to be checked off. So that's what I'm gonna be doing for this weekend ^_^
(^All three of those sentences are actually sentence fragments. Whatever. Sorry, xiy ^_^)

... so, yeah, that's about it. Exciting, I know.

With all due respect,
House

P.S. DEAR XIY AND LYNDA: Sorry my handwriting's so crap... ^_^

*Dude, I'm totally naming my kid "Anon."

[1] Because frogs are cute and kinda crazy and green. And they hop around a lot.
[2] Because whales are totally adorable, duh ^_^
[3] Because fish can swim, and I can't really draw much else. Teehee.
[4] Because that totally works.
[5] Because pandas are happy, cute, and they can kill you by beating you with their [bamboo] sticks.
