xiy's new look

I am writing this post while the other Curly Fries are off at school, and I have to say that it is quite a nice feeling to be at home while everybody else is in ninth period. However, the reason for my absence involves getting four teeth pulled out earlier today, which is not a happy occurrence. At all.

(Like, I would definitely prefer being bored to death in a freshman-infested math class learning about stupid matrices with all my teeth intact instead of sitting at home minus four teeth and bleeding copiously from the gums.)

So right now, I'm still drugged up on Novocaine (and that hurt more than the getting-teeth-pulled-out part), which is kind of problematic because it means I've lost all sense of where my bottom lip is and so I can't really eat. Or swallow. Or close my mouth. As a result, I look pretty gormless and drooly and not attractive in the least.

(Also, I don't think the nitrous oxide has worn off yet either, which means I feel sort of borderline hysterical at the moment, like I've just been on some crazy roller coaster and the giddiness hasn't gone away.)

And speaking of a new look, I got a haircut last Saturday, so now my hair is all layered and kind of short and stuff, and I guess it looks pretty nice. I can't put it into a proper ponytail, though, which is disappointing.

All in all, I look very different from how I looked last week; here is a visual aid.

Those bloody white things are the gauze. And in case you can't tell, FOUR OF MY TEETH ARE GONE. D:
I can't even eat ice cream because my gums are still bleeding and I don't want to eat bloody ice cream, because that'd be kind of disgusting. And I'd probably miss my mouth entirely and dribble all over the place, because my bottom lip is still so numb. Argghhh.

It doesn't hurt too much, thankfully, because I'm in no state right now to be swallowing anything more solid than water. I'd probably choke on the Motrin or something.

So, yeah, fun times.

so it looks like it's finally fall.

I think fall has officially arrived in Curlyfryland, in the form of chilly walks to school (how much am I looking forward to walking to Greek on Tuesday? not. at. all.) and the sudden necessity of wearing jackets while doing so. Also, it involves lots of tea and sickness and leaves turning pretty colors. I saw a few really pretty pinky-red leaves today on the ground, which is a nice change from the standard year-round clutter of dead brownish ones.

Today we were supposed to watch the movie/musical 1776 after school for APUSH extra credit, but technical difficulties prevented us doing so. Lynda borrowed the DVD from APUSH Teacher #1-of-4 and Momo graciously invited us (us being Lynda, House, and me) to go over to her house to watch. It was pretty interesting, even though we didn't get to finish because then the band people had to go to a marching band game.

Speaking of band, I hear Momo and House did very well in their band auditions; I KNEW YOU COULD DO IT; CONGRATULATIONS. <3 <3 <3

I have to get four of my teeth viciously yanked out tomorrow. D: I am not looking forward to it. Like, I'm going to have to walk around with four great big gaps in my teeth for months. It's going to look so stupid. Urghhhh. (Thank goodness today was school-picture-day [though, of course, picture day is nothing to look forward to] and not, like, next Friday or something.) And it's going to hurtttttttt and I don't like painnnnnnnnn and it's so unecessaryyyyyyyy and I don't like painnnn and it's going to hurt. D: D: D:

On a happier note, I got Photoshop last week and it is BEAUTIFUL. There are still some things I like better about Gimp (like how in Gimp you can press ctrl-z indefinitely to undo as many mistakes as you want, but in Photoshop you need to press ctrl-alt-z to undo more than one step, which is annoying), but over all Photoshop is awesomer.

Speaking of APUSH, here's a King George III.

And now I'm working on Carrie's birthday banner. It involves cake. ^.^

Annnnnd that's pretty much it.

We shant be speaking of the horrible tragedy that will come true in 1 1/2 weeks.

No. We will pretend that the s-word doesn't exist.
******
I was sleep-talking last night. Did you all know that I sleep-talk a lot?
I do.
Whenever I share a bed with my mom on vacations or whatever she tells me that I talk in my sleep and she can even have conversations with me.
Anyways.
Apparently I was sitting in my bed going, "HULLO? HULOOOOOOOO?". My mom walked in to see if I was okay and I said something about a devil or something.

I think I should video tape myself sleeping one time. That'd be a guaranteed YouTube hit.

VIRGIL IS BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But xiy and Lynda are just now leaving for their vay-cay. That makes me sad.
 ******
Next week is band camp!!! I'm so excited to see my friends!!!

Virgil and her twinsie are squad leaders. I already know my squad because my sister is a field commander (conductor) but I wish Virgil's sister was my squad leader. Poo. She's so cool.
******
Aglarblahr. Tomorrow I have to get my teeth cleaned with the stupid blind dentists who think that when they scrape chunks of gum out everything is jolly-good. I hate themmm.
******
I'm gonna miss these summer posts with no subject.
I straightened my hair today and thought of you, Housie-poo!!
LOVE,
MOMO
HULLLLLLOOOOOOOOOO?

I just got braces for the second time. FML.

My mother, in her apparently neverending quest to make my teeth perfect, decided on the day I was supposed to get my braces off that, oh no wait a minute, how about we get four of your teeth pulled so that those silly top teeth won't be sticking out quite so badly, hm?

DO NOT WANT DO NOT WANT DO NOT WANT DO NOT WANT.  D:

But arguing was useless, and so it was decided (entirely by my mother, I might add) that my teeth were going to be pulled. She went to some dentist she's apparently friends with (I have never seen that dentist previously in my life) and got said dentist to be all, "Honey, your teeth are sticking out so much that you cant close your mouth properly; see, look, your teeth are pushing your lips outward! Let's pull them out so that you won't regret it later~*"

Might I add at this point that at the time of the visit, I had only gotten half my braces off for about a week? Thus, I had a) half a centimeter of metal and wire still cemented to my bottom teeth and b) only had a week to adjust to not having the aforementioned amount of metal and wire cemented in a similar manner to my top teeth? It's having braces that makes my mouth difficult to close, and it's not like I'd had any time to get used to my newly-stripped teeth; my lips hadn't adjusted to the gap yet.

In fact, after I got the braces put back onto my top teeth today (I really am annoyed by my mother sometimes), it's become actually consciously difficult for me to fully close my mouth again. So now I look like an idiot, and I'll continue to look like an idiot through a good portion of stupid high school because of the stupid dentist and my stupid mother** (what's sad is that the orthodontist is the only one at least partly on my side >.<) and their stupid tooth-pulling schemes.

(This place is reserved for capslock expletives that, for the sake of family friendliness, never made it onto the post.)
Anyway. Speaking of putting on the braces again (have I mentioned that I really am annoyed by my mother sometimes?), I had to sit (no, wait, it wasn't sitting, oh no, it was lying down at an uncomfortable angle so that the back of my head was completely numb) with my mouth stretched (uncomfortably!) open while people poked metal things in my mouth and sucked all the moisture out of it at the same time. So by the end of it, my tongue was completely dried out, I had an awful taste in the back of my throat from I-don't-know-what, the back of my head felt really weird, my mouth hurt, I had another pointy half-centimeter of metal and wire stuck once again on my teeth, and my mouth couldn't close properly.

And hey, guess what? NONE OF IT HAS GONE AWAY.

*And then, of course, she went on to relate horror stories about people who didn't want to pull teeth when they were teenagers and then had to foot the bill for major oral surgery later; etc, etc.

**Okay, fine, she's not stupid and I really do love her and every decision she makes is for my own good. I know. But sometimes I need to vent, alright?
