math class and nanowrimo

In math class, we're learning how to find the roots of polynomial equations, and it involves (at least right now; maybe there's a better way to do it) doing some factoring and then basically guessing and checking until one finds the right number. I really don't like doing these sorts of problems (not that I like math in general or anything, ew) because the whole point of math, at least how I see it, is that there are ways to do things that work out properly all the time; there's not supposed to be uncertainty in math. But now there is and I don't like itttt. :(

Did you know that Nanowrimo is in three days? WELL NOW YOU DO. It is not going to be pretty, this November. >.<

For Halloween, apparently I am supposed to dress up as Christopher Robin, which basically means dressing in yellow and trying to look as short and short-haired as possible, I think:

except pants instead of shorts, because Curlyfryland is freaking cold on Halloween
Virgil is going to lend me her Pooh stuffed animal and it's going to be rather interesting.

Ummmmm. Yeah.

Momo, Virgil, and I started writing a photosynthesis song today, inspired rather by Not Our Bio Teacher's cell respiration song. It's called "Plant," because it is to the tune of "Animal" and we think we're so clever.

And I think that's it.

(NANOWRIMO IS IN THREE DAYS DID YOU KNOW FFFFFFF)

omg what am i doing

Hello!

... so I just realized I get to have the honor of posting on Halloween Eve. Eeeeeeeeep >.<"

It's been such a weird week! I have actually had (a few of) my evenings and nights free! No soccer! What! Ohmygoodness! (And Lynda still has lots of crew! Teehee!) It's been really weird. I've actually had time to start my homework, like, before nine o'clock pm. Soooo weird. What is this. No weekly sprints? What will I ever do.

*sigh* It's still been a really long week, though. Lots of things to be done >.<

My and Lynda's biology class did... err, not as excellently as we all were hoping to do on our scary huge cellular respiration test (*cue music* CELL RESPIRATION... WOO HOOO). Tomorrow I expect us to be attacking him with "Are you sure the answer key was correct?" "I said the same as hers/his, but I didn't get full points!" "No, you definitely told us in class that the answer was B! *sobbing*" "Whyyyyyyyy? D':"

Eghh. We'll see.
It's my bedtime now, however. Sorry to cut this post so short >.<
*quickly crawls into bed to hide from the scary Halloween monsters*

With all due respect,
House.

wazzup y'all

Hello!

Last night was our school's homecoming dance and football game and parade for all the extracurricular activities' clubs' floats. Our football team lost the game 14 - 21, but the game was pretty good, and our band was as shiny and fantastic as usual. The parade also went pretty well. This year's theme was Dr. Seuss, so a lot of the floats were, um, creative :)

And the dance.
First of all, I totally loveee seeing everyone all dressed up and groomed and everything. (Especially the boys. They, like, even shower.) It's so lovely! Everyone looks so pretty ^.^ (Especially Carrie!!!! Gurrrrlllll. You guise, she looked super duper pretty in a lavender dress.)

But yeah. Homecoming... it was pretty good. I had a lot of fun, at least :)
The music was, uh, not too varied from general heavy bass rap, so I don't exactly see my friends enjoying themselves there, so I hope their "anti-homecoming" party thing went well ^.^

And... yeah.
Let me update you on my life.

SOCCER ENDED! NO! YES! WHAT???
I cannot believe this. What am I supposed to do?
I will miss my muddy fields and lovely teammates and being able to shove people to the ground* in the sacred name of such a wonderful sport! D: Buuut I suppose it will be nice to have, you know, nights where I can start homework at a decent hour and all ^.^

Ohmigoodness. So yeah, that happened. And off-season training will probably be starting soon, then.

Aaand soccer ended because now's it's October >.<
I really dislike October. Why? First, soccer comes to an end. Second, I'm really weird, and my teeth chatter whenever it's the slightest bit cold, and this is usually when that phenomenon starts. And lastly, it's when all the horror movies start coming out >.<
Eeeeep. Horror movies. I don't mind that they come out and that people go see them, but the trailers are so sudden and scary and dark and all have creepy music, and you never know when they're coming! *shudders* I really, really, really dislike horror movies. Like, a lot. Also haunted houses. And sometimes skeletons.
So yeah. October. Eghhhr. That's what's up, pretty much.

With all due respect,
House.

*Hehe, being a defender is fun.

Six months heyyyy.

Heyy. Six months. Impressive, y'all. Half a year? I'm so proud *tear tear*

I dunno if any of you want to, but feel free to add things here...
Carrie: Quid? Whoops. Hehe, yayy!! Six months is a long time... That's like, half of a year. ^_^ Btw, sorry 'bout uhh, yesterday. That was my bad. ._. pweasedon'tkillme. and yeahhh, I'm kinda late on this, too. Ugh. I'm such a fail! oh well, yay. Happy time.
Lynda:

Momo:

Virgil: Six months!! Yayy!! I love you guys so much, and I think we should keep doing this forever and ever and ever until all six of us are dead. [And when we're dead we should try for reincarnation and then keep going?]

xiy: Whee, six months. Wow. It's gone by so quickly. It's like we just had the one-monthiversary, and now we're on the sixth. That's really all I've got to say. Long live 6LCF, I guess. I hope everybody likes the banner. Coloring things on Gimp is what xiy does when xiy is trying to procrastinate on stupid Moodle quizzes. ^.^

But yeah. Congrats to us for being super awesome.

Anyway.
Back to the actual holiday that's superdupersoon:
Happy Pretty-Much-Halloween :D
Today was the day where everyone at our school dressed up.  It could be turned into a pretty interesting data set, actually... you've got people that don't put any effort in [i.e. don't dress up], people that put a little effort [i.e. maybe, like, a hat or something], people that actually get together a costume, people that get together a legit costume, and people that go all out.  (The sub categories being things like: girls who want... um, attention from the boys; groups that legitimately try and then succeed in epicness; cute little couples that match cutely; groups of girls who all dress in the same tight minidresses with slight alterations; people whose costumes are a win win win win win; and people who are dressed actually not that much differently than they usually do.)

The only other thing I can think of is actually a question for xiy and Lynda, my Asian friend consultants:
We watched a tiny bit of this crazy-butt Chinese horror(?) movie in Mandarin I today. I was wondering if it's actually that friggin crazy, or if I just didn't understand the plot line. It's called, like "Painted Heart," or Painted something... (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PRe4Dk327wg is like the music video to it...?)

So... yeah.

Happy Friday, y'all.
xo
With all due respect,
House

P.S. NaNo is just around the corner! *evil cackling*

The Scary Things That Hide in My Closet

Right, so.

You know how I went on and on last week about scary movies?  Well, it appears to be that the world hates me, since I've seen only twenty million and four trailers for Paranormal Activity 2.  And I'm still freaked the crap out.  (I'd usually take this space to put that last sentence into more colourful language, but the other Curly Fries already yell at me for my lack of censorship.)  And now I have a lovely lamp in my room right nice and lovely next to my bed, so I don't have to get in or out of bed to turn it off or on, making me completely-almost(-okay-not-really) invincible to any evil things that might, like, idk... bite my piccolo-playing arm off.
Or something.
I'd probably suggest for you to do the same thing, since these parts are notoriously famous for their monster-thing attacks.  Like, duh.*

And—zomg—another week has passed by, and I still don't know what I'm being for Halloween.
Dang.

In other news:
Our marching band will not be marching tonight; it's a pep band game, which means that we get to sit in the stands (not in icky, sweaty uniform, yayyy) and play when there are time-outs.  And stuff.

There were a ton of subs for teachers today at school.  (We watched a fun video about Newton [as in Sir Isaac] being an alchemist and Bobby Hooke being a butt about it.  Super educational.)  I guess even teachers think "Screw it, I'm skipping class," every once in a while, too.  Remarkable.
The only other thing that was that eventful today in school was this super cute kid that came and shadowed someone in my English class.  Thank you, Grilled Cheesus.**

I think that's about it.
So, yeah. Bye.

With all due respect,
Houose I just spelled my name wrong wow.

Post scriptum: Y'all are in for a real treat on Monday ;D

*Except for not really, I think... er, I hope...

**Oh, yeah.  I also started watching Glee this week. [*bandwagon*]  So maybe now I'll have maybe sorta kinda a clue as to what the frick Momo and Lee are talking about when they go off on their one hundred mile-per-hour "OMGWEREYOUWATCHINGLASTNIGHT?!?!?!?!" monologues.

Why October is Obviously the Best Month of the Year

Hello, all!!

La la la la, la la la la, Virgil's world! La la la la, la la la la, Virgil's world! Virgil loves October and mochae too! That's Virgil's worrrrrrrllllld!!!

I'm a little bit on the hyper side right now because I just had a grande mocha from Starbucks and I don't usually get grandes because they're ginormous. (Firefox accepts ginormous as a word!) Today, however, I was in desperate need of caffeine after a long rehearsal so I deviated from my usually order of merely a tall (which, for you non-Starbucks-goers, is a small) and got a grande. I love mochas. Or is it mochae? Is mocha a first declension noun? Mocha, mochae (f): yum.

Today is Saturday, September 25th, which means that a certain someone's birthday is coming up! It also means that the most awesome time of the year is once again nearly upon us: October.

I've spent my whole entire life trying to decide which time of the year is the best. The Christmas season is, of course, high up on the list, but where the 6LCF live it gets unreasonably cold in December. November could be argued as the best month since it is National Novel Writing Month, but the stress and lack of sleep partially cancel out the awesomeness. Summer is awesome since there's 1) no school and 2) my birthday, but summer also involves putting on sunscreen, which is one of my least favorite activities. It also involves sweating a lot, which I also do not enjoy. (I used the word "also" too many times in the last couple of sentences. I apologize.) There's really no argument for February or March or April.  Sorry, guys.

October is very clearly the best month of the year, and I am going to tell you why.
This is going to be in list form, because I had enough of writing persuasive essays in English class last year.
The reasons are in no particular order.

1.) Hoodie weather!
In October, the temperature gets just cold enough for one to wear a hoodie all day, but not so cold that one has to wear an unflattering marshmallow jacket. Hoodies are the best type of clothing to hug people in.
2.) Pretty leaves!
The leaves go all pretty in October - not like in November, when they start to get all brown and gross. The best kind of leaves are October leaves.
3.) Apple cider!
People drink apple cider in October. I love apple cider.
4.) Halloween!
     a. Pumpkin carving!!!
     b. Haunted houses
     c. Hay rides
     d. Dressing up
     e. Trick-or-Treating
     f. Candy!
     g. Making decorations
5.) Outlining!
In October, you can enjoy the awesomeness that is NaNoWriMo without the actual stress of knowing that you have to complete your 1,667 words per day. You can outline, world-build, character-build, and all that good stuff.
6.) Routine
When October comes around, the year has at last fallen into a normal-ish routine. After October, one starts to get really sick of this routine, but it's awesome for the time being.
7.) Clubs
Extra-curricular activities at school take all of September to get going, and then in October, everything is finally organized. Science Olympiad events will be assigned. Latin Club will be able to start thinking about things that are more important than the Homecoming Parade.
8.) The tennis season ends!!!
This one is fairly self-explanatory. I will finally have a life, and I will no longer have to physically exert myself.
9.) Hot drinks! (Apple cider sort of falls under this category)
October is the month in which one transitions from frappuccinos (cold drinks) to cappuccinos (hot drinks). This is really, really exciting.
10.) Harry Potter movie marathons on ABC Family
Of course I own all the films anyways, but abc shows them with the deleted scenes! OMZ!!!

Those are just a few of the many reasons why October is the best month of the year. I would open the comments to discussion, but is discussion really necessary when it's just so plain that October is the best? No, I didn't think so.

In the comments, add one more reason why October is amazing that I haven't listed already.

DFTBA,
PDBAZ,
Peace, Love, and Otters,

Virgil

P.S. I forgot one! October is when there's a family weekend at my sister's university! I get to see her for the first time in almost two months! Yayyyy!!!
