Happy President's Day
You know what I don't understand? President's day. "Why?" you might ask. For starters, are we celebrating past presidents or honoring the one in office? And what if you don't like the president(s), past or present? I also don't understand why it's in the middle of February. Or why there isn't a Vice President's Day or First Lady's Day or House of Representatives' Day. I do not understand. However, it just gives us another reason not to go to school. That's something else that confuses me. Do they really think we need the day off to think about presidents? No! Do they really think we would actually spend our day off thinking about presidents? No!
Today Virgil and I attended Latin Club scrapbooking because...wait for it...
CONVENTION IS IN 4 DAYS!!!!!!!!
Aaanyway. We sat around and cut paper and generally had a magnificent time. We even called our friend, Cow, and told him about the dangers regarding his milk. I also inhaled quite a bit of vinegar while rolling on the floor in the fetal position. Good times...
Which leads me to my next topic: Parody Week! Yay! It's done. If you haven't already, you can see the results downstairs. In the post under this one. WOOOOOO! We should do something like this again. I liked most of it.
Aghhuffhogdgrthvbio. I don't wanna go to school tomorrow. D':
The End.

Happy Valentine's Day!
I've noticed that no one's posted today for Valentine's like we were planning. Anyway, Happy Valentine's Day! May you all get fat off of chocolate and get as many stupid love cards as your tiny hands can gather. Also, enjoy some cheap flowers and stuff. Wee!
Did you ever notice that there are always a tremendous amount of birthdays in late October and November? Count nine months from Valentine's. There's your solution. Bamf. Guess who was born in November? Just putting that out there.*
Here's a poem to celebrate the day:
-Momo
And I, xiy, present to you, inspired by Alex Day's wonderful song "Holding On":
Happy Valentine's Day. May you consume lots of delicious chocolate!
House's turn!
I present to you all the magical gift of PINK. Made it specially for you :D
Hope you guys had a lovely Monday :)

Winter Holiday Special Movie!!!!
I am writing this on Sunday right before I go to the airport to go to Germany. If you're reading this, I suppose the uploading thing worked. Anyway, this is the video we made yesterday, er, Saturday. I tried to blur faces as best I could, but you couldn't really do it individually. Maybe we'll edit it some more later. Anyway, I hope you enjoyed it (especially the first song) and have a nice winter break. I don't know if I'll be able to post next Monday, but I'll try!
Love,
MomoTHE VIDEO IS IN THE POST THAT SAYS: WINTER HOLIDAY SPECIAL MOVIE FIXED!
PLEASE ENJOY!!!

Happy Thanksgiving!
![]() |
| Sorry for the bad quality; the picture was taken by webcam because (a) xiy doesn't have a scanner [*sadface*] and (b) she was too lazy to take a legit camera-picture. |
YAY!!! It's Thanksgiving! Thanksgiving break too! It's my day to post today, but since it's also THANKSGIVING, I'm giving up my post, so that everyone of the Curly Fries (and I mean everyone. Lately the ALL curly fry posts have been a bit lacking in ppl who actually POST IN IT, >:( So EVERY CURLY FRY MUST POST TODAY :)) can post what they are thankful for this Thanksgiving. Please also post a quick summary of what you, the reader, are thankful for this Thanksgiving in the comments!
*note* Curly Fries, also post something about what you are doing for Thanksgiving
Anyways, as we are all so excited about eating turkey, cranberry sauce, mashed potatas n' gravy, blah blah blah...and all sorts of things, let's get posting about what we love to eat too! YAY!!!...Actually, how about this, Curly Fries must post on what they are thankful for (at least 3, and please have at least one original idea-something other than "family, friends"...you can have those as the other 2, ok?), and choose one of the following: 1)What you are planning on eating, or 2)What you are planning on doing.
Our faithful readers (from Canada?), feel free to join in the comments!
Luv, Lynda
P.S. Watch the Macy's parade! It's fun. :)
Momo: 1.) I am thankful for many of the same things as xiy already mentioned (she was the first to fill this in) and a lot more. I just came back from feeding homeless people in our city and it was really fun and I realized how much more stuff I have than them. I am thankful that I have a house, computers with keyboards, turkeys who so bravely give their lives for our dinners, telephones, genetics, this blog and the people who are part of it, Hyperbole and a Half, my family, God (sorry, but I had to bring in religion), school breaks, my camp, German food and the people who make it, my cats, tooth paste, eyes, all 6 of my senses, water, stairs, rocks, the sky, Greek and Latin, math, Science Olympiad, good books, music, and a lot more. I am thankful that I am alive and that I don't have a fatal disease or anything.
2.) I already said that I fed the homeless and now my mommy and I are going to cook. Then we're going to a friend's house for a feast!!!

xiy: What xiy is thankful for:
friends/family (duh); books; blogs; the Internet; sunsets; summer vacation; the discovery of fire; planetariums; indoor plumbing; the fantasy genre; good music; chocolate; squishable sheep named Archie; the ability to draw; red pandas; curly fries and Curly Fries; plums; unicorns named Hector; windy days; school holidays; cats; air; the human circulatory system; evolution; trees; smoothies; webcomics (xkcd, Fey Winds, and FreakAngels in particular); Gimp/Photoshop; WiFi; pillows; tea with peppermint; snow(y) days; and I can't think of any more as of right now, but there's definitely loads more.
Lynda is coming over today for Thanksgiving. We're going to have a giant Chinese Thanksgiving party tonight, involving much yummy food and a lot of little kids running around.

Carrie: Herro! :) I already had my quite delicious thanksgiving feast with the fam. and my mother is making a 15-pound turkey. I don't know why. But now my whole house smells strongly of Turkey ^_^ and I get to have a whole 'nother thanksgiving on Saturday. Today was the one with my dad's family, and on Saturday I'm having it with my mom's family. Soooo lots of food and possibly 10 pounds for me. Eh, it's 'kay. I'll sleep it off. ;) I'm thankful for a lot this holiday season. I'm thankful for my loving family and friends and everyone I'm lucky to have in my life right now! I'm thankful for the fact that no one in the family has passed since there have been some close calls. I'm thankful for the roof over my head and heat that keeps me warm. I'm thankful for all of the people I have met, whether they've stuck around or not. I'm thankful for all of the fantastic experiences I've had in my life. And finally I'm thankful to be blessed with this life and all of the happiness it's brought with it. :) Love y'all! xo ♥ Carrie
Lynda: Thankful for: food, money, ranting, blogs, internet, computer, my brain, my body parts, friends/family, life, fanfiction, writing, NaNoWriMo buddies, Crew Break Month:), Birthday, 6LCF, and most of what everyone else said :)
Going over to xiy's house to play cards(actually, I already went), eat, talk, play ping-pong...OMIGOSH! I played ping-pong, 1st time in my life, not that bad at it...The ping-pong ball just liked to bounce off the ceiling a lot whenever I hit it...or just fly over xiy's head :)
House:
Virgil: Do I really have to list everything I'm thankful for? I'd be here all day. Uh, general things: God, friends, family, a nice house, books, libraries, fantastic people like J.K. Rowling, and... uh... yeah basically everything fits in those categories. I am going to my grandparent's house for the long weekend to see them and my aunt and uncle and cousins and other people. We will talk about politics and Israel and other things that don't really interest me that much, but that's okay.
XOXOXO

Six months heyyyy.
Heyy. Six months. Impressive, y'all. Half a year? I'm so proud *tear tear*
I dunno if any of you want to, but feel free to add things here...
Carrie: Quid? Whoops. Hehe, yayy!! Six months is a long time... That's like, half of a year. ^_^ Btw, sorry 'bout uhh, yesterday. That was my bad. ._. pweasedon'tkillme. and yeahhh, I'm kinda late on this, too. Ugh. I'm such a fail! oh well, yay. Happy time.
Lynda:
Momo:
Virgil: Six months!! Yayy!! I love you guys so much, and I think we should keep doing this forever and ever and ever until all six of us are dead. [And when we're dead we should try for reincarnation and then keep going?]
xiy: Whee, six months. Wow. It's gone by so quickly. It's like we just had the one-monthiversary, and now we're on the sixth. That's really all I've got to say. Long live 6LCF, I guess. I hope everybody likes the banner. Coloring things on Gimp is what xiy does when xiy is trying to procrastinate on stupid Moodle quizzes. ^.^
But yeah. Congrats to us for being super awesome.
Anyway.
Back to the actual holiday that's superdupersoon:
Happy Pretty-Much-Halloween :D
Today was the day where everyone at our school dressed up. It could be turned into a pretty interesting data set, actually... you've got people that don't put any effort in [i.e. don't dress up], people that put a little effort [i.e. maybe, like, a hat or something], people that actually get together a costume, people that get together a legit costume, and people that go all out. (The sub categories being things like: girls who want... um, attention from the boys; groups that legitimately try and then succeed in epicness; cute little couples that match cutely; groups of girls who all dress in the same tight minidresses with slight alterations; people whose costumes are a win win win win win; and people who are dressed actually not that much differently than they usually do.)
The only other thing I can think of is actually a question for xiy and Lynda, my Asian friend consultants:
We watched a tiny bit of this crazy-butt Chinese horror(?) movie in Mandarin I today. I was wondering if it's actually that friggin crazy, or if I just didn't understand the plot line. It's called, like "Painted Heart," or Painted something... (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PRe4Dk327wg is like the music video to it...?)
So... yeah.
Happy Friday, y'all.
xo
With all due respect,

There Needs to be a School Holiday in October
Because there aren't any in the school district in which the 6LCF reside, and it sucks. Columbus Day, while an extremely silly holiday (my opinion of Christopher Columbus is rather low), really should be an excuse to get a day off, but no. We still have to go to school. Ick.
On the topic of school holidays, it seems that as one progresses through the schools, one has fewer and fewer days off. In elementary school, there are four parent-teacher conference days in which one does not have to go to school (if I remember correctly). However, once one hits middle school, the number drops from four to two (or one? I don't remember; but it's definitely a lower number).
Also, in elementary school, there's a ton of professional days and stuff like that. Little kids want to go to school; they don't need all those days off.
Sure, we get early-dismissal days once a month, but that's only once a month and one still has to go to school, albeit for a shorter amount of time.
There also should be naptime in high school, because it would be put to much better use in high school than in kindergarten.[And then maybe naptime could be during gym class; I would very much support that change. There are only so many games of knockout one can stand before one loses one's mind completely.]
Fencing was very enjoyable. We started footwork much later than usual, and Virgil and I just sat around and talked for a while (Momo, sadly, did not attend). A few new people came today.
Oh, I found out just how terrible I am at arresting the motion of falling gloves. -.-;;
NINETEEN DAYS UNTIL NANOWRIMO! :O
[And, Poofy, even though nineteen days *seems* like a lot, it is most certainly not when one is talking about the onset of November and insanity. Two weeks and five days isn't nearly as long as it sounds.]
Not much else to say for today. Greek class tomorrow (in which we will learn about Dicaeopolis's big, brave boy named Philip; Xanthias, as always, will probably be his lazy, clumsy, Captain-Obvious self). :)

Nightmare
Hi.
I had a nightmare...*shudder* It was horrible. I don't know why it was horrible. Or even why it was a nightmare! It just...was. I'm too disturbed by it to write much (I fell asleep for half an hour, woke up in terror, and remembered it was Thursday). I'll just explain the nightmare.
It was a dark and stormy night...(influenced by the animated Snoopy persona that I have for Firefox) Everyone in the town of Edes(don't know why it was called that. I just...knew it was called that) was fast asleep. Including a girl named, Lynda. Pronounced with a SHORT "i". Very important to know. All of a sudden, (this was a fairly fast nightmare) people just started coming out(yes, I'm changing tenses.), and yelling, "Lynda!" Pronounced Line-da. NOT HOW YOU PRONOUNCE IT! The day went on, with people just acting normal, and calling me(changing points of views....yes, I know) Line-da. It felt sooooo scary. I don't even know why! It was like, Line-da, pass the butter! Line-da pass the salt! Line-da, can I see your homework? Hi Line-da! Why are you reading again, Line-da? etc. It was absolutely, the most horrific thing I'd ever experienced. I honestly don't know why. I just woke up after the last "Line-da sentance", which was, Line-da, do the conga!*shudder* Anyways, I woke up in pure terror. Horrible.
If anyone can explain to me why the heck that dream was so frickin' terrifying, let me know!
And, yes, for you readers out there, of which we have 2 new ones-Andy Bell and Hannahbananaboomboom (yay!), I actually think of myself as "Lynda" sometimes in the real world. (hahahahaha, to the ones who know what I'm talking about)
Oh well. I'm going back to sleep...As always, after Thursday comes Friday, which is a Greek day...I HATE WAKING UP EARLY!!!!! >:(
Almost forgot! Today, we didn't have school, because of Rosh Hashanah (which I spelled wrong on my blog...dang it) I'm going to wish every Jewish person who's reading this, and not reading this, a happy new year! (I sincerely apologize if I get the next part wrong) L'Shana Tova!!!! : )
| Isn't he adorable? |
By the way, for those of you who believe that I shouldn't mention Rosh Hashanah, because it's a Jewish holiday? Go learn some tolerance.
G'night!*
Lynda
*The day I say "good morning" is the day I wake up really early and remember to post...which is a LOOOOONNGGGG ways away.

My Belated Picture Post
HELLOOOOOOO!!! How's your LOOOONGGG weekend GOOOOIIINNNNGGG????? Mine's been awesome. We're going vegetable picking tomorrow. I should probably do my homework before Monday night....Oh welll. Here's my picture post!
![]() |
| This is my second attempt at drawing super-me on paint...I forgot the hair? Oh crap...FYI, I have long black hair. |
![]() |
| I stared at a blog called "Hyperbole and a Half" for a while and copied the eyes. Isn't it cool? |
| Drawing tired me out. Here's my foot. I recently re-painted them with Nail-Polish. |
| Look! I learned how to do my hair prettily! (I think I might upload a tutorial on Youtube ^_^) |
| A closer look. It's done with a chopstick, and nothing else. I just realized that my hair looks brownish. It's not. That's just the sunlight and Flash thingy, trying to fool you. |
That's it! Hope you liked it.
Luv,
Lynda!

Happy Birthday, Virgil!!!
Today is June 30, 2010. There is a significance to today, as all readers should know. We've been talking about it for ages and ages and ages! Today is Virgil's BIRTHDAY!!! SHE'S TURNING [*beep* Due to security reasons, this message has been censored *beep*]!!! OMIGOSH!!! We're all so happy for her birthday, and that is why the whole blog has changed. The background, the glitter, the animation, the sparkles, the heading, and the proportions too! There are two videos which you should have noticed; one is Virgil's very own Google Search Story. The other is from our distant friend, Momo. Momo's at German Camp, so she can't be with us on this fantabulous day. She made a video a while back and ordered me to upload it on our blog when this special day came. IT HAS COME!!! So watch it. Look at the blog's glory. Gawp at it. Worship it. READ THIS POST...obviously. Now the CURLY FRIES will each write their own little section, about what they like best about Virgil, what they would've gotten Virgil if they had a million dollars to spare, and whatever else they want to write, about VIRGIL. The birthday gal. Virgil's name is also included, she can write her reaction to the festivities. It's optional, so Virgil, dearie, you don't have to write. (In honor of Virgil, the title, is in RED, her colour)
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, VIRGIL!!!
House: VIRGIL AHHH IT'S YOUR BIRTHDAY AHHH HAPPY BIRTHDAYYY!!! (Because I'm at my summer house, and I wasn't clever enough to plan a month ahead, I can't get your birthday present to you... -.-" But what I did was make a nice little slideshow of pictures that remind me of you, which you can watch to the left [to the left, to the left... yes? No. Okay.] of here.) What I like best about Virgil is that she's always happy and nice and cheery and faithful [... that sounds awk, sorry] and yeah ^_^ If I had a million dollars to spare, I'd hire Dan Brown and Dan Brown and Natalie and Daniel Radcliffe and the Vlogbrothers and James Galway and "Mrs. O'Hart" to come over to Virgil's house to help celebrate her birthday. [lolz, sorry. Didn't see Lynda's bit. Uh, then I'd get any people that Lynda's million didn't cover. And I'd hire an agent and legit editor/publisher/whatever for her soon-to-be bestselling books that she's gonna write.]
Momo: [See video to left]
Momo: [See video to left]
Carrie: Happy birthday to you! Happy birthday to you! Happy birthday dear Virgil!!!! Happy birthday to you!!!! And many moreeee... Well, I guess this is my post for today *frump* but as long as Virgil has the most amazing spectacular fantastic day, that's absolutely perfect with me! It's a bit hard to point out a few things that I love about Virgil, since I love everything about her! She's smart, funny..no,no she's hilarious! She always has a way to make anyone smile. :) I love how random she is. Like, if there's an akward silence, you can almost always count on Virgil to break it. Virgil is probably the absolute best writer and flute player I've ever met. And I love how she's modest about it, even though she's frickin' amazing. She's just been such a good friend to me these past years, and hopefully many years to come. To say the least, I wouldn't be the same person I am today if I never met her. FLUTE PLAYERS FTW! (<-- teehee! Sorry, couldn't resist.) I love you, girliee! ♥
Lynda:Oh dear. I started this but I have no idea what to write. I guess I'll start with what I like best about Virgil. I like how Virgil is always so crazy and obsessed with Harry Potter. She's always so nice to everyone. If I'm feeling pretty crappy, just seeing her little antics will make me laugh. I love how she loooovees curly fries, and how we named the blog, and ourselves after (admit it, it was named after Virgil's obsession) her favorite school food, curly fries. She always begged for curly fries from me and xiy because we got school lunches all the time. Ummm...of course, I like her because she's bloody brilliant, funny, Englishy, and because she's my fiancee!!! If I had a million dollars, I'd probably get Jo (JK Rowling) to go and visit Virgil, along with teh MuggleCast guys, Dan Brown, and ummm...Hank+John Green. I'd also buy her that roller coaster, Top-Thrill Dragster(TM/C/R), cuz she likes it so much(she can share it with Momo, I'm sure she'd be a good little girl, and share)and I'd get her tons of B&N or Borders giftcards. Happy Birthday, Virgil!
xiy: [Just a short note before I get to the good stuff: Lynda, Lynda, Lynda. You really need to work on your commas. Most of the commas in the introduction were quite unnecessary, young lady. But since I don't want to be a buzzkill on such a "fantabulous," as you put it, day...] HAPPY BIRTHDAY, [note the comma!] VIRGIL!! AHH!
Soo... Am I supposed to list what I would hypothetically give you, Virgil? All right. We could...let's see... I'd get you a pass for the movie theater so that you could go see HP+DH as many times as you'd want (that sort of thing probably doesn't exist, but oh well). Or a time machine to go back to Rome. But time-traveling scenarios rarely work out well, so maybe not. OOH! I know! We could go to one of those re-enactment fair things (like a Renaissance fair, y'know?) for ROME. And then you could experience it all without any time-traveling side effects (i.e., getting killed accidentally)! And you could hone your mad Latin skillz.
Anyway, presents aside, today is most certainly a very special day.
We love you much, Virgil! ^.^ Have fun today! There's only one a year, after all.

VIRGIL:You guys are made of so much awesome that you just don't know what to do with it, do you? I guess I'll start off by saying that I love ya'll very much, and I couldn't ask for better friends. Siriusly. If I had a million dollars to get myself a birthday present, hm... that's tough. I quite like Lynda's idea of getting to meet all those people. I might just buy a million dollars' worth of books. Or I'd pay for us six Curly Fries to go on a vacation to Venice... hehe... or the Disney Cruise. <3

*Le Gasp*! It's the 6LCF Two/Bi-Monthiversary!
Happy two/bi-monthiversary, guys! Howzit goin' (I do hope you're all doing well and haven't been, oh, trampled by enraged hippogriffs or anything in the past day)?
I have the pleasure of announcing that today, June 29, 2010, officially marks the end of the second month that the Six Little Curly Fries blog has been in existence (and it's spelled with an "e," not an "a." Another one of my fanfiction pet peeves... But you don't need to hear about that)! It's been a great two months; I hope the blog'll keep going strong.
I've got a little pic for you that doesn't really have anything to do with two-monthiversaries, but it does pertain to blogs and I think it refers to a problem that, unfortunately, the 6LCF do seem to have. I'll just let the picture do the talking, 'kay?
Sorry about the usage of bad language; however, I think we're all mature enough to take it, aren't we?
Oh, and I think it's interesting to mention that I found this picture on another Blgospot blog that's been going on for years now, and apparently they celebrated their two-monthiversary as well. Woot, kindred spirit (of course, their blog had readers from practically the beginning, and ours totally doesn't; oh, well)!
Anyway.
What else is there to talk about?
Have any of you ever read The Tough Guide to Fantasyland, by Diana Wynne Jones? It basically parodies "regular" fantasy by listing a whole bunch of tropes (go visit TVTropes.com to learn what a trope is; but don't blame me if you end up on that website the entire day--the place is quite addicting)--or cliches, but "tropes" is a cooler term--in alphabetical order, then treating them as if the book was a guidebook for a tour through "Fantasyland" (aka your generic fantasy, well, land).
Everything from "apostrophes" (how do you pronounce things like "Ga'orad"?) to the "reek of wrongness" is there, and the book is hilarious. Especially the reek of wrongness. So go read it if you haven't.
So... I've been writing ("been writing" in this case meaning spending forever thinking of a good plot idea and then writing one chapter in a frenzy of inspiration) this one, erm, story (it's not a novel yet), and I was wondering if you nice people could read what I've written (heh, all less-than-one-thousand-words of it)? Pwetty pwease?
Yeah, Virgil's the legit writer, but I do like to exercise my writing muscle once in a while. Not that anything good really comes out of it... -.-
I'm a better editor anyway (you should hear me when I'm reading fanfiction! There's only been a few where the grammar's really good; the story can be wonderful, but the authors always forget commas and semicolons and they don't know that if you're writing "[dialogue]," [person] said, you must put a COMMA after whatever the dialogue is and not a period!! ARGH.
For example:
"I don't like this." Bob said.
Even though it's supposed to be:
"I don't like this," Bob said.
See? A COMMA, not a period!
But anyway, moving on...).
So, yeah. After my questions, I shall show you my great opus (ha!).
1) Have you read The Tough Guide to Fantasyland?
2) (After you read my excerpt) Do you think it's okay? Any suggestions?
3) (After you read my excerpt) Do you think I should continue this?
4) Does fanfiction grammar make you cry? Do you read fanfiction?
5) Are you happy that 6LCF has reached two months old?
6) Do you think we'll make it to a year? Two years?
All right, here's the excerpt (*hides*)
I have the pleasure of announcing that today, June 29, 2010, officially marks the end of the second month that the Six Little Curly Fries blog has been in existence (and it's spelled with an "e," not an "a." Another one of my fanfiction pet peeves... But you don't need to hear about that)! It's been a great two months; I hope the blog'll keep going strong.

Happy Father's Day!
Happy Father's Day!!! :)

Lookie! It's a daddy dinosaur with his little dinosaurs ^_^
(How can I tell it's the daddy, and not the mommie, you ask?
Because the mommie would be pink, or she'd have a bow,
or she'd be making a sammich, or something.
Bottom line: It's the daddy ^_^)
Poor daddy-dinosaur... He got himself and the kids lost just 'cause he wouldn't listen to the mommy and take along a map. Whoopsie. =.=
To the Six Little Curly Fries:
1) ADD TO THIS POST!
2) Below: What are you doing to celebrate your dad on Father's Day?
Momo: First of all, I'd like to say this is a very nice Father's Day post thing. Well, today I am going to camp, which will make my daddy sad, but he'll live. We sort of celebrated yesterday with a home-made waffle breakfast with strawberries, ice cream, and whipped cream. I made a lovely card and drew pretty pictures on it. :) Today we went to church, and tonight, the rest of my family is going to dinner...I think. That's all!
xiy: I made my daddy breakfast this morning (fried egg, some cantaloupe, and toast). I've yet to give him a card, though (*shiftyeyes*); but I told him I love him very much, which is what the card does too anyway. But I will give him a card--it's traditional, after all. And it makes everyone happy, which is nice (and I gave one to my mother, so I don't want there to be any unfairness). :)
Carrie: Oh wow.... sorry guys. I actually did not know about this post. =/ But anyhoo, me and my dad went to the zoo. That was fun. We went all the way up to the northern trail, and at the zoo in where we live, that is a very very long walk. In fact, we walked the entire day! And had tons of fun, so it was worth it. Then, after that my dad's parents took us to Bob Evans for dinner. It was De-lic-ious. I think that my dad liked his fathers' day very much. ♥
Lynda: Oh my, this is all so pretty! So today's Father's Day...Ahh...I have yet to do anything for my dad, hehehe...Umm...well, this is sort of because he's at the lab, so I haven't seen him all day, and well... I didn't wake up at like 8 to make breakfast for him cuz I'm rather lazy. I did however, make a pretty card last week, and all that's left is to print it out, and hand it to him when he get's home!
I also sent him a very pretty ecard.I would've sent a personalized video thing from JibJab, but I'm not a "member"(paying...it's not expensive, but, I can't really pay online seeing as I don't have a bank account...). Ah well. I don't think we'll be going to some large dinner thing, we're having yummy noodles at home. Then again, we always have yummy noodles...Oh dear, this is rather long.
Anyways, if my dad's reading this, which he should, if he gets my email to read this, Happy Father's Day, Dad! I love you!
House: I woke up and made my dad a card filled up with lots of inside jokes that we have made up for the past... like, ever. (Where did you think I got my amazing sense of humour from? Daddy, of course.) And then my mum and dad ran out to the bagel place to get bagels for breakfast, since we realised after a bit that we have no food. In the house. At all. (Well, some Frosted Mini-Wheats. But whatever.) Later today, we are going over to my grandparents' house to have a really big (Italian) family dinner/lunch/gathering thingy :)
Virgil: Um... on Father's Day morning, I told my dad that I loved him and then I left for camp. A week later, he left for Boston. Fifteen minutes after that, I got home from camp. Sooo sawdy.

Tra la la la! It's Thursday
Wow, there's 4 1/2 days of school left!!! OMIGOSH!!! Now, I know today is the 3rd, so I'm writing this...a bit belatedly, but HAPPY INTERNATIONAL CHILDREN'S DAY! June 1st was Children's day, so yay!!! I'm going to give you a big ol' list of countries, and their Children's Day dates. The list only goes up to Pakistan, so if you want to know more, just go to Wikipedia! :P That's where I got most of this!
Let me ask my questions, and then if you feel like just skimming through a couple of the dates, click "read more". I feel so happy that I get to use it!
1.If you were a worm, how long would you be?
2.What would you want to be written on your tombstone?
3.When you looked in the mirror first thing this morning, what was the first thing you thought?
3.When you looked in the mirror first thing this morning, what was the first thing you thought?
4.If Superman is so smart, why does he wear his underpants over his trousers?
5.Why doesn't glue stick to the inside of the bottle?
6.Why isn't there a special name for the tops of your feet?

Happy Memorial Day!!!
The title says it all. The end. Not really though....Happy Memorial Day though to those of you who live in the U.S. of A. with us! In our little town (that isn't too little) we celebrate this lovely holiday with a giant parade (and we dom't have school, woot, woot!). The marching band comes out (we've got an AH-MAZING band) and all sorts of people march the 2 miles or so. Groups like Girl/Boy Scouts, soccer teams, hockey teams, churches, people campaigning, library people, and other random groups. This year I walked in the parade with my church, instead of walking however, I rode my unicycle. I'm cool like that. It was really, really hot and I died a little. It was fun to chuck handfuls of candy to little, ungrateful, greedy children. The hockey team (of like, eight year-olds) in front of us each had a bag of candy in one hand, and yet, when another one chucked some candy to the crowd, they all dove for it! I was like, "You do realize that you have a bag of candy in your other hand...right?" I didn't actually say that to them though. Before I went to the parade I was at Virgil's house, creepin' on her. Just kidding! We had a 6LCF sleepover in which we made sock puppets and a video. The video isn't loading very well so that will probably be added into this post later. We had so much fun making it though! First we "went swimming in the moonlight" as xiy says, then we came inside and "brainstormed" for an hour about what we would do. It ended up being improv and a dance. Lots of brainstorming required...
I just went swimming for an hour or so and now I'm back and the video that I was talking about is here!!!!! YAY!!!! I realize now that it may be a little boring for most people...but it is funny to us. So hmph! We finished video taping at like 12:30 last night, er...this morning. I am soooo happy for the monthiversary!!!
Hmm...what else...? In honor of Memorial Day I will tell you a short (very short) history of it. Ahem.
- It is a holiday. In the U.S.A. Where they remember people.
- It is always on the very last Monday of May (which is today O.o)
- Also known as Decoration Day.
- It was first celebrated for Union soldiers after the Civil War.
- Which is around when the Union was reunited. *clap, clap, clap*
- After World War I all soldiers were included in the celebration/memorial.
- At 3 p.m. local time, there is a remembrance for all who died (I didn't know that!!!)
- Back in the olden Confederate days, Memorial Day was celebrated with a solemn service remembering those who passed.
- There is "The National Memorial Day Concert" which takes place on the west lawn of the United States Capitol.
- Many schools recognize this as the start of summer. Ours doesn't. Poo.
Sorry for the short post people! Happy Monthiversary and Memorial day!!! And watch that video!!!!
*~*~*~*~*-Momo
Ooops! I forgot my question of the day! I only have 1+ 1/2.
- Where do those white puffs that fly through the air come from and why are they so hard to catch?

A Post From Momo:
Woah! New style, look what I can do now: couldn't do this before! Or this: sweet! And different preview thing, and page breaks!
Sorry, the formatting for posting changed, I would stop, but it is just so fun! Weee! BTW, this post is going to be in 4 parts-ish...unless I ramble. Then it may be 5 or 6. But then again, I may forget what to write a part, so it may be 2 or 3 parts (crap. I'm rambling, never mind).
*****
Anyway...
Happy Monday, May 17, 2010! Enjoy it now, because this moment will be gone in a few seconds, there it goes. So sad. Ahem. Did you know that today is a very "holidayful" day? Because it is (oh no she did not just begin a sentence with "because" *gasp*). Today is Armed Forces Day, UN World Information Society Day, UN World Telecommunication Day (that sounds interesting, eh?), World Hypertension Day (as does that), Anniversary of the 1st US Same-Sex Marriage (yay!), Mia Hamm's birthday, and Constitution Day (Norway). Man, I just love World Hypertension Day! FTW!
Have you heard about our cooking teacher yet? Ms. Land we'll call her. She is extremely stupid, annoying, culturally challenged, and frankly, a very bad cooking teacher. This week, we will be learning about Asian Cuisine. I do not think however, that Ms. Land realizes that "Asia" is not just China. She asked xiy and House what they could tell the class about what they eat at home and where they are from. House is adopted, but she has been to China before. She doesn't eat Chinese food at home, but Ms. Land doesn't understand that. xiy does eat Chinese food at home, but seemed a tad annoyed with Ms. Land's pronunciation of words, her descriptions of food, and just a tad annoyed with her references to other Chinese traditions. I think they should have made Ms. Land look even dumber by doing this:
Ms. Land: "House," [she didn't actually say House] "where are you from? What do you eat at home?"
And House should have said: "Um. I'm Korean. I don't know about Chinese food."
She didn't do that though because she is too good. *Sigh*. Then somehow, our class got into this whole argument with Ms. Land whether it is pronounced "sherbet" or "sherbert". I, being the short-tempered little girl that I am, shot my hand up and said, "Well, actually, I think some people call it sherbert and that both are correct." Needless to say, Ms. Land does not like smart-a**s like me...so she made a bet. She told me that if I brought in a product (not a picture) with "sherbert" written on it, she would give me 50 extra credit points. That is a lot of extra credit. Soooo I did a little research. I found out that sherbert is another name for sherbet and that both are appropriate. I also discovered that sherbert is slang in Britain and Australia for beer. I told my mom about this, and she and I are about to go to the grocery store to buy some sherbert/sherbet. If we can't find any with the actual label of "sherbert", I will make my own label with a sticker machine I have. Mwhahahaha! I feel so evil!
Guess what?!?! This week (well, on Friday) [Edit: Er, actually next Saturday...], 6LCF will be celebrating their one month anniversary! On Sunday (I think) we will be having a collab. post talking about the history, or lack thereof, of the Curly Fries. Look forward to that...
I lied! I forgot to say what I learned this week. This week I learned that "What had happened was..." is in the plu-perfect tense. That's all. I couldn't think of anything funny. Now laugh and go away. Bye. For realz.

Aaand:
If we did not mention it already, last Saturday we had a very successful flashlight tag/Monty Python party. Sadly, Carrie couldn't make it, but she was there in spirit. Also, if you don't know, flashlight tag is like, a tradition of us. It is a cross between hide-and-go-seek, freeze tag, and ghost in the graveyard. You have to wait until it is dark outside, then have one person be "it". They count to 60 while everyone else hides. The "it" person must find everyone by shining a flashlight on the person (this is called "being tagged"). If you are tagged, you must go to jail. You may try to leave jail, but the "it" person normally keeps a close eye on you. People can also free you if they are free and they tag you. Once everyone has successfully been locked up, the round is over and you begin again. We try to play this a lot, it's super fun. I don't have anything else to say...so see you, talk to you, until next week...Bye!

Never mind. I lied again. I want to have a theme this week. Leave any theme suggestions in the comments, then xiy can have the first theme post and I can finish it off next Monday. Unless no one wants a theme. I would be sad. Happy Hypertension Day!!!!!

Happy Mother's Day! (part 2)
Hi, guys! Happy Mother's Day (like it said in the title)!
Now, I know that none of the Six Little Curly Fries are actually mothers (at least, I do hope we're not...we're a bit young, I should think), but Mother's Day is still quite a special day, yes? So I just wanted to start a post about what we're doing to show our wonderful mommies that we love them dearly, contrary--sometimes--to outward appearances.
Me? Well, I made my mother a very nice (kind of cheesy) card with a drawing of my big happy family (if four people counts as "big") in it. I was going to make her breakfast, but our house is kind of devoid of any real breakfast food except Cheerios (and those are more for my baby sister), and my mom's not the biggest fan of cereal, so that didn't really work. My mom was a bit late in declaring what she wanted (jewelry, though she didn't say what kind), so we still haven't really gotten her present yet, but hopefully we will go and pick it out today.
Um...I feel kind of like a bad daughter...did I do enough?
(By the way, this is xiy typing, in case you didn't notice.)
Anyway, what did you guys to for Mother's Day (you can answer this tomorrow if you don't have time today)?
Carrie:
House: My mum's actually sick today with something like what I just had (Get well soon! *lessthanthree*), but Dad and I (meaning "Dad") made her the usual Mothers' Day crepe breakfast that we always do. We went over my grandma's house (id est, my mum's mum's residence) and ate a lovely lunch with a lot of my family from both my mum and dad's sides.
Momo: Haha! I just posted a thing on mother's day too! My mom asked for apple trees (???) but we haven't gotten them yet. I was a great daughter and made a lovely pancake breakfast all by myself! I also made a box full of certificates of momliness, a coupon, and some origami...for some reason she liked it.
Lynda: Uh, now, what did I do?? Oh yeah. Well, I drew this pretty card, but she didn't notice it, cuz I taped it onto the second floor door, and my COUSIN (grrrrr) opened it. So she didn't see it behind the door. *sigh*. I also got her a single rose because....well because I couldn't a) find a store in Shaker Square that sold bouquets of roses, besides that icky florist design shop (who honestly wants a rose bouquet that needs a month to be made? I EMPHASIZED on the "now" word!) and b) I ended up finding it in Dave's Supermarket but--> it was $25. I only had ten dollars with me *annoyed grunt*
(It's not amazing, but of course she absolutely loved it, because I'm a terrible daughter and I almost never let her read anything that I write.)

Virgil: Well, we had to get up early to go to church, so there really wasn't any time for the ol' breakfast-in-bed routine. However, my dad did go to Bruegger' s to get us yummy bagels and chicken spaetzle soup, and tonight we will have our annual lobster & steak dinner with our next-door neighbors. I also wrote a poem for my mum. Do you want to read it? Of course you do.
-
You always sit and talk with me
Whenever I feel low;
You protect me from the elements:
From sun, from rain, from snow.
The gratitude is always there
Although you may not see it;
Even when it is not Mother’s Day
My appreciation is “legit.”
I cannot even express in verse
All that I have to say,
But I just wanted you to know
That it doesn’t just last for today.
I love you with all my heart,
Or wherever Love might lie;
Perhaps it’s actually in the stomach
Or maybe the left eye.
I’m not sure exactly where Love lives,
But I know this to be true:
There’s a special place in that appendage
Reserved for loving you.
Whenever I feel low;
You protect me from the elements:
From sun, from rain, from snow.
The gratitude is always there
Although you may not see it;
Even when it is not Mother’s Day
My appreciation is “legit.”
I cannot even express in verse
All that I have to say,
But I just wanted you to know

Reserved for loving you.
(It's not amazing, but of course she absolutely loved it, because I'm a terrible daughter and I almost never let her read anything that I write.)
As always, readers, you can tell us your story in the comments!
Happy Mother's Day!
Good morning Curly Fries (and our super followers)! If you didn't already know, today is mother's day. We should all be honoring our mothers today, but in case you forgot, here is a poem that you can print out and give to your mommy to tell her how much you love her!
Mommy I Love You
Mommy, I love you
For all that you do.
I'll kiss you and hug you
'Cause you love me, too.
You feed me and need me
To teach you to play,
So smile 'cause I love you
On this Mother's Day.

Thumper Thursday
Hi again! It's me, Lynda. I have named the day after my bestest/favoritest Disney character!!! Thumper! That awesome thumpin' rabbit from BAMBI!!! (Though I never did like Bambi. Dang how stupid can ya get? The forest's on fire, run away!) OK, so that was a bit random wasn't it? I was just trying to find a word that alliterated with Thursday. It worked!!! Now to the school related crap that I'm just dyin' to get to (No, I'm not country). 1. Gym. I have never ever ever ever ever seen such an old lady trying to teach gym, and wears....*dun dun dun dunnnn* miniskirts!!! Oops. I'm being mean aren't I? Ah well. we'll let that one slide right? 2. English class. In that particular class, I get to do something amazing called "recitation of your sonnet"!! YES!! I wrote a sonnet, and I, the cowardly stage frighted person shall be acting out that sonnet very professionally. Any shaking, forgetting of lines, jitters, buckets of sweat, and nervous giggling, are purely the imagination of the audience. :P Anyways, ummm. Once again, I have nothing, absolutely NOTHING to discuss.
Today's Children's day in Korea! Isn't that AWESOME??? Yesterday, on that lovely CCTV4 that us Chinese people receive in America, I saw this amazingly fun thing in the town square/city park area! They were getting their face painted! Although we all love this wonderful activity of face painting, there are these things called safety guidelines that you need for your benefit. The top ten safety guidlines ARE! 1. Just cuz it says "non-toxic" does not mean it's safe for the skin. It merely means that if you accidentally swallow it, you'll just be in pain, and NOT dead. Keep acrylic paints, watercolor markers or pencils away from that gorgeous face alright?
2.I know that there's a girly-girl inside of you that is just dying for lots of glitter on your face, but NO! The only safe glitters for face painting are made of polyester, and should be .008 microns in size or smaller, that's what the FDA says!
3. Cleanliness. Clean that brush and those sponges! You don't want a dirty brush on your face! (Or anyone else! Don't pick face painting as a way of revenge, ya don't wanna get sued.)
4. If you think you're allergic to nothing, you could possibly be wrong, so check to see if the ingredients have something in it that's a possibility! If you're one of those people who are allergic to everything, umm, seriously, check that label!!!
5. Wash your hands. You don't want your dirty germs getting on your face do you?? Then don't do it to others!(Same note on the no-revenge policy) After you go to the bathroom, your hands are dirty wash 'em before you face paint yourself, or others, assuming you wipe of course. If you don't, then just keep your hands well away from the butt, and you should be fine...
6. Dudes and dudettes with hair. Lice is something you've heard about, oui? Oui. If you hold someones' head in place to paint, umm, you might wanna check to see if they have lice before you touch that head. No offense to the people who pride themselves on being clean, I'm just saying, lice is BAD. >:(
7-10 are for business people(one of them), and kinda common sense. Such as, get a lisence before you go painting someone's face! Also, make sure you have their parent's permission, if they're under 18. You do not want an angry parent yelling at you, especially not mine(they be angry when they're angry!) Also, eat before you set yourself to the task. Ya might get hungry.
OK then, hope you'll be safe now, face painting. This has been a safety and health lecture from Dr. Lynda! ;) Didja know? Korea's Children's Day may be today, but the International one is on June 1st! Another day to milk your parents for presents! :D

Poll among the curly fries: are you celebrating or mourning?
<>Momo: mourning/remembering the dead and their lives, especially Crabbe <3>
xiy:Mourning; mostly for Fred, since his death was ridiculously ironic, and Colin, who shouldn't have died. [House: Seconded]
Carrie:
Lynda: I'm kinda indifferent either way (*gasp*!), but I'm leaning more towards mourning.
House: Mourning. RIP, all who died.
Virgil: Mourning :'(
