/pokes the blog

It looks like recently we've been getting more active again, which is lovely. c:

Anyway, today was a nice day; we had a day off of school and Momo and Virgil came over to do the source of all great unhappiness in the world, i.e. the 40 Questions of APUSH Class. We got through ten, ate dumplings and pineapple, and then went on a walk with Lynda and her siblings to the elementary-school playground. The seesaw there is pretty good, though not a legit seesaw (it has springs :|a) and thus not perfect.

Later, Virgil and I wrote some more of our pottergatsbyfic, which now has a witty and metaphorically resonant title: Borne Back Ceaselessly Into the Past. I also made us an ff.net account tentatively titled shupicorns. We've finished the first two chapters and might post it soon. Harry & Co. travel back in time to fight deatheater!Tom Buchanan and destroy Voldemort's eighth Horcrux, which is actually Gatsby's fabled green light. The metaphors all fit so perfectly; what's not to love?

(Oh and speaking of writing, Lynda and I started a writing journal as well, though as of yet there's not very much on it. I might post pottergatsbyfic up there too; who knows.)

I like Alex Day's music. Not so sure about "Lady Godiva," though. :|

Well, that's about it for today. I will go back to procrastinating on the Internet.

oh wait I'm supposed to post today

. . . and I have no inspiration. I'm supposed to be either studying for Science Olympiad (it's supposed to snow 3-5 inches between tonight and 6AM tomorrow morning, and I am sort of hoping it gets canceled) or doing an English assignment.

Needless to say, I've started on neither of them. Ah, life.

omg what am i doing

Hello!

... so I just realized I get to have the honor of posting on Halloween Eve. Eeeeeeeeep >.<"

It's been such a weird week! I have actually had (a few of) my evenings and nights free! No soccer! What! Ohmygoodness! (And Lynda still has lots of crew! Teehee!) It's been really weird. I've actually had time to start my homework, like, before nine o'clock pm. Soooo weird. What is this. No weekly sprints? What will I ever do.

*sigh* It's still been a really long week, though. Lots of things to be done >.<

My and Lynda's biology class did... err, not as excellently as we all were hoping to do on our scary huge cellular respiration test (*cue music* CELL RESPIRATION... WOO HOOO). Tomorrow I expect us to be attacking him with "Are you sure the answer key was correct?" "I said the same as hers/his, but I didn't get full points!" "No, you definitely told us in class that the answer was B! *sobbing*" "Whyyyyyyyy? D':"

Eghh. We'll see.
It's my bedtime now, however. Sorry to cut this post so short >.<
*quickly crawls into bed to hide from the scary Halloween monsters*

With all due respect,
House.

oooops.

Ffffff I completely forgot I was supposed to post today, so this is going to be short.

This week has been okay, if rather long and slightly painful (two tests a day on average and a re-tightening of braces do not make for a happy xiy), so yeah. And Virgil lent me Ender's Game today, and I am on page 35 and it is lovely.

Here; have a drawing to make up for the utter lack of substance.

hoodies and cold piccolos

Hi hi.

My fingers are cold as I type this. Yes, fellow curly fries and members of the curly fry army, colder weather has set in for the past little while. I kind of like the colder weather, since hoodies are like one of my favorite things ever. But with the cold come sadface things, like out of tune piccolos covered in frost and audition+try-out season.

Buuuuut try-outs and auditions are nearly over :]

Momo and I made it into the band we auditioned for!! Gah, exciting. And Virgil (who was in the group last year 'cause she's so swag) made third chair, which is practically second chair, since there are two co-first chairs. Yayyy!

Coming up this week are auditions for the second band, which Carrie's auditioning for. We send her the best of luck :) {She's gonna be brilliant, no worries there.}

Our lovely three hundred and something person marching band is continuing to improve at a very lovely pace, as is the JV soccer team. The flute squad slants look straight and wonderful, and more and more teammates are learning the wonderful benefits of ~~*passing*~~ the ball.

*sigh* my life has deteriorated to school (daytime), soccer (after school), and music (the weekends).

Hope you're all well. (And that xiy's mouth doesn't hurt too much! :( )

With all due respect,
House.

So I made another banner yesterday because I was bored and making stuff in Gimp is apparently what I do when I'm bored (that and because it was really humid and sticky and gross out yesterday and there were no really good places to sit and read without getting one's skin stuck to the surface one was trying to relax on and read). It is hanging quite beautifully up on the top of the blog now. I do realize that the last one wasn't up for very long, but the fact that it wasn't quite centered always annoyed me, which is one of the reasons why I made this new banner. But if you prefer, I could put up the other one. :)

Sunday will be Harry Potter's birthday! He's going to be, what, thirty-two years old now (please correct me if I'm wrong)?

Aaaaaaand there's not really much else (my posts are getting shorter and shorter, aren't they?) to say. I'm reading I Shall Wear Midnight by Terry Pratchett, which is a very good book. I recommend you read it.

Oh, and I drew a picture, though I think I went overboard with the textures; it looks a bit funny and kind of too lens-flare-y and bright.

Tock, Rhyme, Reason, Milo, and the Humbug, in that order.
Yeah. I hope you had a nice Friday.

soccer soccer soccer and flute

Hey, guys.

Apparently, I'm supposed to take some time off from obsessing over Alan Rickman's excessive amounts of awesome [and how hot Matthew Lewis has gotten] to write this post. Idk how well this is going to go, then...

Japan won!  Yay for them! The game was mental, which I'm assuming those of you that knew the World Cup was going on already are aware of, since you had to have watched. Gahhhhahhahahhhhh.

Anyway, yeah. I've been keeping busy, mostly with soccer training/camp/practice (for the oh-so-soon pre-season!). I've been running my butt off between band rehearsals, sips of Gadorade, and quick showers, pretty much :P (Also, I've been doing a teeny bit of summer homework... not enough to, like, exert myself, but I've done a little. I took the final for this online health course thingy, so I'm officially done with listening to this lady from BYU lecture me on abstinence, hooray!!)

That's about it. Sorry about the short post... I kinda need to go to bed, you know, since soccer training doesn't go very well with being ~totally nocturnal >.<

With all due respect,
House.

omg this is the end.

Hello.

I'm back home! Yay :) Though I do miss the coast a ton already... but being back here is nice.

And my cousin got married yesterday! Yayyy for the happy couple. I had a lot of fun with the family and food [omg baclava]  and all. But I guess I'm really unfamiliar with wedding customs...? Before a couple months ago, I didn't know that there was a matron of honor. I mean, that makes sense, but I'd never really heard of it. And ushers leading women down the isle to be seated? What? >.< Maybe I should get out of the house more...

*segue* lol xiy taught me spelling!

And I will be getting out of the house for sure tomorrow, bright and early (nince o'clock a.m.) for the kicking off of soccer training! Yayayayay soccer! I'll be sweating off half my body weight on the same field for the next short ever.
Ohmigoodness...
I really hope I survive this training session >.<

So... yeah. I guess I should warn you guys that for the next while, my posts will be mostly about soccer and training and things ^.^"

Oooh, also, HP7 is coming out ridiculously soon.
Like, Virgil's-about-to-burst-into-tears soon.
Like, the entire fandom world is about to blow up July 15th.
Holy cow.
Okay. I shouldn't think about it too much. Or else I might get all emotional.

*sighs* I should go run before it gets too dark.

With all due respect,
House.

happy first of july!

Today concluded my first day of medical-camp-thing, and I guess overall it was okay. The people are nice; the food is surprisingly delicious; the counselors are all a lot more fun than I expected. The field trips mostly involved getting lectured at for one-and-a-half hour sessions, which isn't so fun, but it's not horrible or anything (just a bit boring).

At the Chinese/Asian store today, my mother bought Pocky for me. It is very good (♥), though she doesn't see the appeal and now is lamenting her decision to buy it. I am not. (She also bought quails' eggs, which really don't taste at all different from chicken eggs, so it was kind of pointless.)

In three days, it will be American Independence Day. Hooray for fireworks, lots of food, and a day off from work (and medical-camp-thing)! :D And today also marks two weeks until HPDH part II, which is EVEN MOAR EXCITING.

Um. And I also drew a new banner, though I guess I won't be putting it up until after July 15.

I think that's it. Sorry for writing such a fail of a short post.

:)

Hi hi.

So, this week should be actually quite nice.
I'm in a lovely mood in comparison to last week, so I'll be going into finals somewhat hopeful.
School is winding down! Thank goodness. (Finals are going to be... um... stressful. However, we're starting to prepare for this bout a little bit earlier than before, so maybe it'll be more calm?)
The sun is beginning to shine again; the classes are getting progressively less productive; those freakin birds are starting to chirp earlier and earlier, forcing me to lose sleep. And yay it's almost summer :D I can't wait :)

xiy and I finished our 9HD today! I'm really excited for this Tuesday night. xiy and I get to lose miserably to Momo and Carrie's display board, yayyy. Our board is actually really good in comparison to our other one. (Granted, the other board had more character and was more neon and overall more beautiful. But judges like /organized/ and /neat/ and /formal/, meh.)

Momo and Virgil have turned me (and xiy) into QWOP fanatics... it's this simple running game-thing that gets to be really addicting XD

Anyway.
I should go practice moar flute. Auditions are this Wednesday for that band Virgil and I are in.
Kbai!
AHHH AUDITIONS AHHHHH >.< >.< >.<
With all due respect,
House.

Happy Friday!

I had quite a nice day today. The weather was beautiful and school was largely tolerable (French class was actually fun/productive today; fancy that!) and it's Friday. Fridays automatically make everything better.

It's really nice out still. I might go out and read later on or something.

Uhhhhhh.

Finals are coming up in, like, seven-ish days. The Greek final is on Monday, though, and I kind of really need to study.

And thus, because I am a fail and have nothing really to talk about, here's a sketch of Peter Pan that maybe I'll get around to colouring sometime and a few pictures of some flowers I took last week.

There was originally a Tinker Bell in the picture, but she ended up looking more like a blue hairball, so I gave up.

Flowers on top of my chemistry homework. How lovely. ♥

Look at that awful handwriting.

Cheers,

xiy

Aggh. You guys pulled me out of my blissful, post-convention slumber to write this. There's my post.

Momo

Monday, February 7, 2011

Agh! I forgot to post!!! Well, almost. I'm really tired so here's the news:
1. Saturday was Science Olympiad. I had fun.
2. Today was school. I did not have fun.
3. House and I got "yelled" at in Latin class.
4. Tomorrow we have to take a stupid math test.
5. I am almost done with my Latin Convention project. Yay!
Secret Message: I was lying in bed thinking that I was forgetting something...
The End.

uh. title fail.

Hello there; how has your Tuesday been so far?

So our winter special video was supposed to be up yesterday, but the video wouldn't show up because it was still 'processing.' I left it to process for about two hours and it still wasn't done, so I gave up and just published the post. Carrie tried again later but got the same result, which is why Momo's post is no longer up. I s'pose we'll just have to work it all out when Momo gets back or something.
Apologies, dear reader, if you were expecting a video. It'll (hopefully) be up soon.

There was a lunar eclipse in our area last night, and the full eclipse was supposed to be around three in the morning. However, the stupid weather was being stupid and it was cloudy when I woke up to see it (well, the moon may not have been completely blocked, but I took one look at those clouds and gave up and went back to sleep, heh). Grr.
Did anybody else see the eclipse? If you did, was it cool?

Sorry for this complete fail of a short post; I've just got nothing interesting to say. >.>

  5. I just got back from fencing...

Word Count: 25,052 (I haven't written today...but I will write eventually!)

I am Procrastinating on Science Homework as I Type This

Because I do not like physics at all and my brain needs a rest.
We were doing kinematic equations today in science class, and even the teacher admits that she only memorizes the equations when she needs to teach a class. She says that after this semester, she'll forget them and re-learn them next year.

When even the teacher admits that there is no real use in memorizing kinematic equations, what in the world is the point of us learning them? They're just taking up pointless room in our brains; the practice problems waste tons of paper as well.
But whatever. Who am I to question the mysterious ways of the board of education?

I've got nothing nearly as grand as Momo's picture post. Though I did spend an hour in Gimp yesterday coloring the 6LCF Six-Monthiversary banner. The six-monthiversary is on Friday (October 29, 2010), and House should have a particularly nice post for that day (*elbowslazy!House*) It's quite exciting, actually. I didn't really expect Six Little Curly Fries to last this long. But it has, and it's nice. :)

FIVE DAYS UNTIL NANOWRIMO!! :S
TWENTY-FOUR DAYS UNTIL HPDH (AND LYNDA'S BIRTHDAY)!! :D

Today, House learned the parts of a compound microscope. It is a very exciting breakthrough for her, apparently. Hooray for House!

Uh, yeah. I should probably go. Sorry for the ridiculously short post; I've got homework to do. Plus, there's really not that much to say.

Goodbye.

Gah! My flight is gonna leave!!!!!!

From that title,I assume you know that I am at the airport. Sadly,I am also lacking a computer. So I type this on my mom's iPhone. I am starting to hate Apple. Due to my current predicament, I will keep this short. Really short. If you haven't noticed, I made a new page!!!! I was bored, but it should be fun. I may not be able to post next Monday, seeing as I will be in Sequoya National Park! Well, I will be leaving Texas soon (we had a layover here) and starting my family's camping trip.

Love,
Momo

P.S. Could someone make this font green? iPhones apparently don't do font colors.

Thursday, July 22, 2010

*Yawn* It's Thursday again?

Hullo. I'm bored. Erm. I know everyone (starting from Momo) has started writing long novels as posts again. I'm gonna break the chain.Yeah. It's hot. You know what? I think I'm finished! I have nothing to write about.
O-oh. I forgot. Yes, the questions are getting seriously boring. Ummm... That's all. Sorry for a short post.
BTW, please visit my blog: My Blog for a longer post-ish thing. I finally updated it. Not quite sure when. The days are starting to get fuzzy in my brain...(Do brains rot? It feels like mine is)

TTFN,
Lynda

Argghhh

First off, I apologise for the exceptionally short post that this is about to be. I just got home from Kentucky, but you see we have company at my house, so I have to get off the computer ASAP and not be such a "recluse."

Kentucky was fun. Lots of hard work and digging. We were building a retaining wall out of tires. I pretended that I was at Camp Green Lake, but that got old after about two days. Dig dig dig dig dig dig dig. 8 to 3:30. But then after digging, we got to swim in the lake that was there, so it was nice. :]

Band camp on Monday.

Infinitus on Friday.

I don't think you realise that I've been waiting to go to Hogwarts since I was like six... and yes, it is quite a few years overdue, but I'm finally going.

DFTBA,
PDBAZ,
Peace, Love, & Otters

Virgil

P.S. Crap, questions. Right.
1.) Bottom bunk or top bunk?
2.) Fruit gum or mint gum?
3) Fries or mozzarella sticks?
