Have you ever noticed that when you write a certain word more than about five or six times, it starts to look funny, as if you've spelled it wrong or something, even if you've spelled it right? No? Okay, never mind, that's just me. Moving on.
*theme music plays* (to the tune of "Elmo's World") La-la-la-la, la-la-la-la, Virgil's World! La-la-la-la, la-la-la-la, Virgil's World! Virgil loves quadratics and Potter too! That's Virgil's Whhirrrrlldd! *end theme music*
So... today is kind of officially the first day of summer vacation. I know that Thursday was supposed to be, but we still had to go to school for graduation, and then yesterday we went to Cedar Point, which still involved garish yellow buses and teachers. Also, this morning I had an audition for a very prestigious youth orchestra in our area (which went well even though there's no chance that I'll be getting in, regardless) so I couldn't actually relax until that was over. Now I'm on vacation.
When I'm on vacation, my brain somewhat turns off. Today, I think I'm just going to jog for a bit on the treadmill and then start outlining this new idea that I got for a story the other day. I might study some Latin or read some more of Lessons from an Optical Illusion (which I've been reading for several weeks now and still haven't finished) ...but I'll probably just end up reading fanfiction.
What should I talk about? I was going to write about the last day of school and then our field trip, but Lynda and House decided to have *collab posts* - so instead of posting about those things in here, I felt obligated to post about them over there.
You know, yesterday was probably the last time that all six of us will be together in the same place for a while. We're all going to different places over the summer, so starting in about a week, we'll never all be in the same state, let alone the same room.
OH I know! I'll write about the World Cup. That'll be fun.
So there are two World Cups going on this summer. There's the football one, which is taking place right now in South Africa, and then there's the Quidditch World Cup 2010 (yes, since there is one every four years and there was one in 1994 when the 4th book took place, there should be one in 2010). The latter isn't being broadcast-ed on American Muggle television, but the former is, so I've been watching bits and pieces of the matches, even though I'm honestly not that interested in football.
I don't have much else to say, really.
Questions:
1) By how many points do you think England will slaughter America in today's match?
2) Do you like football?
3) What do you do on summer days when you don't have anything planned?
4) What is your favourite song?
5) Do you think that I should go do something productive instead of coming up with more questions?
6) Do you have a favourite quote? What is it?
7) Celtics or Lakers?
8) Where is your favourite place in the entire world?
DFTBA,
PDBAZ,
Peace, love, & otters,
Virgil
Pssh. What are you talking about, Virgil? Of COURSE you'll get in. You beast at flute. :)
ReplyDelete1) Dunno. I was watching the Argentina versus Nigeria ("NGA" is Nigeria, right?) one, and it was 1-0 for the longest time; I'm not sure if the score ever changed.
2) Not really. It's okay to watch if I'm bored.
3) Go on the computer or read.
4) Hmmm......... I like "Granger Danger" from AVPM alot.
5) Nah. Lots of questions are fun!
6) There's a lot of quotes from Alice in Wonderland or The Phantom Tollbooth that spring to mind.
Ooooh, I've got one:
"I do so love a nicely bandied word."-Petyr Baelish, from the book A Feast for Crows.
7) I don't care.
8) My room, with a nice breeze blowing through the window, plenty of food and drink, a bunch of stuffed animals, and a thick book to keep me company.
Even if you don't get in, that's fine. (Even though you totally will.) You're still in that other group that you were in last year (the Youth Symphony), so you'll have fun in that, esp. now because more people from our grade+school also tried out [and probably made it in].
ReplyDelete1) Ahhhh tieee sawdyyyyyyyy
2) Duh.
3) Clean my room, call up a friend to see if they want to hang out, lay around, make smoothies.
4) Can't choose one (b/c I have a new favourite, like, each day), but "Dear Maria, Count Me In" is playing right now. I like that one.
5) Nah.
6) [See the first part to my response to question four] "You're all smart. You're all cute. Relax."
7) ... that's, like, basketball, right...? (Uh....)
8) I've got a few. [Including the Woodbury field, my room in RI, a certain chair in our public library, and the couch in my grandparents' house.]

P.S. Virgil! Wtf happened to England's flag?? [-Behind in current events-]
ReplyDeleteUm... that's been England's flag for like thousands of years. Where've you been?
ReplyDeleteNo, I mean, like, where the sexual intercourse did the blue and the stripes- *Looks up on Wikipedia, who is more helpful than you* Oh. Why can't they just stick to one, then? Gosh. It confuses us Amuricans.

what's wrong w/their flag?
1. I knew they would tie! All the games tied (except for Korea vs. Greece)

5. Yes.

7. Don't care.
8. CAMP!!!!!!
The white with the red cross in it is England's flag. The one you ignorant Americans are more familiar with is the "Union Jack" which is the flag of United Kingdom. England is not the same thing as the United Kingdom. The Scottish flag is blue with a white "X" so they combined them to make the Union Jack.
ReplyDelete1. Idon'tknow
