Hello there, reader dearest! Welcome to the Tuesday Tower! I see you've next-blogged (or used some other means of web-transportation) your way here to Six Little Curly Fries. My place, the Tower, only ever comes on Tuesdays (hence the name), so you're in for a nice treat. Food is over on that table to the left, and drinks are on the right; help yourself. Once you're situated food-wise, why not sit on those squishy chairs over by the decorative urn? Don't mind the giant fluffy sheep. His name is Archie, and he doesn't bite; I promise.
So, now that you're comfortable, I'll begin some introductions. I'm xiy, one of the Six Little Curly Fries, though I'm the only one that has a tower as of now. My name is pronounced ecks-eye-why (you just say the letters), though I won't get mad if you pronounce it "szee." That's all right (my real name is equally hard to pronounce in English as well, in case you're wondering). That's really all you need to know (no, I'm not some crazy kidnapper luring innocent web-travelers into my diabolical tower— wherever did you get that idea from?).
I thought that you might want to know a bit about the history/background information of Tuesday (the people who don't, skip this paragraph, please). Tuesday is named after everybody's favorite one-handed Norse god of war (and law), Tyr (or Tiw in Old English). On the first Tuesday after the first Monday of November every four years, federal elections are held in the United States. Shrove Tuesday, aka Mardi Gras, is the Tuesday right before Lent in the Western Christian calendar. Super Tuesday is the day many US states hold their presidential primary elections. Also, if you search "tuesday" on Google, about 316,000,000 hits come up (the first of which is Wikipedia, where I got all my Tuesday history stuff from).
(To the people who skipped that last paragraph: you really missed a lot by skipping that paragraph. Who knows, maybe one day you'll need that information! I'd go back and read it again, if I were you...)
By the way (this is totally unrelated to Tuesday), I am a huge fan of the webcomic xkcd. It's a really nerdy comic most of the time, and even I don't get some of the really mathematical ones. It updates every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. This Monday's is particularly funny (http://xkcd.com/735/<-It won't link; sorry). House is a pretty big fan of the comic, too, and she's actually on an update day, so I'll leave it to her if she wants to do it. I'll post some that I think are really funny, though.
Have you fallen asleep with boredom (or fainted from an overdose of purple) yet? Because, as much as I regret this, my time is up. The Tuesday Tower has to depart (I know you're all so very sad to see me go). I'll be back next week with more crazy stuff for you guys.
See you next week!
-xiy
very nice!
ReplyDeleteDude, who can ever get an overdose of purple? ^_^ (I'll update xkcd occasionally, probably... like, at the end of each post...?)
ReplyDeleteSure.
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone like the new background?
AHAAA, I JUST REALIZED THAT ITS STARWARS DAY!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteMay the fourth be with you....
Well Hi again! I just realized that I love xiy! You are the most sarcastically funny person ever! (Though I did skip the Tuesday paragraph, I'm sorry, I'm just not that into History...)Keep up the great work guys!
ReplyDeleteP.S. I told some of my friends about this blog. You guys don't mind right? (Listen to me! I'm acting like you guys are my friends!! Though, ummm. Momo? I'm a girl. We can't have children...)
Heehee, thanks, Edna. :)
ReplyDeleteWe don't mind you telling your friends (well, I should hope not...I hope I'm accurately portraying the feelings of my peers). We need all the publicity we can get. ^.^
Um Hi. I'm one of Edna's friends. She told me at school today about your blog, and I decided to check it out. This is actually quite good! I actually took part in the NaNoWriMo thing too! Though, I only got to 30K because my imagination ran out. I find that I like House the best. No offense to the other people.
ReplyDeleteThat's so cool that you do NaNoWriMo as well! If you'd like to message me (Virgil) on the NaNo forums, my username is Accio_Plot :) I got to 50k this year... barely. haha. Thanks for reading our blog!
ReplyDelete@xiy: I find it really funny that I've edited the purple text in black ink ^_^
ReplyDelete@Macknzie: Ahh, thank you so so so much. You're awesome. As in *legit* awesome ^_^ [Dude, you got to 30K! That's, like, still crazy amazing. {I didn't even attempt it, if it makes you feel any better.}]
ReplyDelete@Edna...b-b-but Edna!!!! You are our first follower, and as the prophecy reads, the first (real) follower must marry the coolest blogger (which is obviously me). Oh wait, there is no prophecy. Never mind.
ReplyDeleteKeep telling people about us! We love you! <3
